Italy hardly saw any action. Partly because I arranged with Madviking that Italy was to join axis once Germany was about to make vichy. However, Germany got seriously beaten up allready in Poland and suffered some serious losses against Benelux and France (losing Cologne also). Also, the game messed up the events for the invasion of Denmark so Madviking had to invade them twice.
Finally, the allianceoffer to Italy was sent by Germany, but never arrived to Italy. The games logic seems to be once you're in an alliance allready (which Italy was with Ethiope for some reason) you cannot join a new one. Logical, but why block the diplomatic offer from Germany?
Consequently Italy entered the war rather late (may 1940) and only saw a bit of battle in North Africa (attack rebuffed by 17 UK divisions), Africa (lost one province and gained 3 other and Genoa which was lost surprisingly fast (reserves didn't even reach the front). The gamespeed was below normal so it was over before I could see what happened. Kind of surprising that defensive benefits weren't better, but french troops seem to have been artillerybrigaded.
