Peace continues to reign supereme in the Soviet Union. After some spending on civil goods the population is much more happy and the armed forces are more willing to fight for their motherland.

The army has also improved and expanded, with the biggest part of the infantry now being fairly modern, and the tank-corps wielding the most advanced tanks in the world. The axis invasion of the middle-east is causing some concern in the politburo however, and demands for retribution can be heard in the supreme soviet.

The Banned, Denied & Opressed List of Mistakes of the German High Command

1. With the Mediterranean Sea in German hands, the two Battleships and the Graf Spee could be a useful addition to German forces

2. IC spent on defensive Fortifications in eastern Poland were pretty useless, the 15 IC/day could have been converted into about 10 infantry divisions which are sorely needed.

3. The Positioning of troops at the onset of the Russian onslaught was horrible at best, I must unfortunately assume most of the responsibility for this.

4. Assuming the Russians would spend all their IC on reducing dissent and not be ready this soon.

5. Starting the Middle eastern Campaign too late, Yugoslavia should have been taken at the same time as France. We could have 20 divisions freed for the Russian front.

6. Destroying the British Carriers, in retrospect with the Med closed to the Brits, the IC cost was not worth it. Hell the whole British fleet is probably out of both Oil and Supplies. 100% Strength Bombers and escorts would help against the red menace.

7. 50% of our HQs not at the front, not very good.

8. Promoting Rommel, Guderian, Mannstein & Hausser was unnecessary, we don't even have tanks enough to have two of them going.

9. Not building enough troops, whether, Inf, Mtn, Armor or Mot inf.

10. Badly positioned minors, with the AI controlling the minors they will abort any attackorder issued by the German high Command and can therefor be used solely for defence, at the start of the war they were positioned for offensive action only. (This led to many cries of anger and multiple stacks of A4 papers being torn to pieces).

11. Handing out this list.

Edit: 12. All our winter specialists are in Africa

The Soviet Union watched with horror as the Axis-powers invaded the middle-east and the UK-army crumbled in Egypt. When the Axis declared war on Persia comrade Stalin decided that the workers paradise could stay by no longer, and had to take an active part in the liberation of Europe.

The Soviet army had been moved to attack-positions earlier in an attempt to force the Axis to lower their troop involvment in the mid-east theathre. This failed however, and as the Red Army was upgraded enough the invasion was launched at the beginning of winter.

The advances have been small however, as unsyncronized troop-movements have allowed the enemy to concentrate a massive amount of firepower on small units and thus forcing the red-army to retreat peacemeal. There have been several major engagements however, with over 80 divisions in single battles.

The advance has been a limited success however, as the German fort-line was captured as well as east-prussia. With the winter coming into full effect the attack has been postponed until more favourable weather occurs.

UK 1940 august - november

With +30 Italian and +40 German divisions in the Middle East Alexandria and Northern Egypt was abandoned. Some UK, Greek, Portuguese, NZ, AUS and French forces were surrounded and destroyed in Iraq after some unexpected difficulties to evacuate them. (Buggy naval moves meant Allied fleets could not be selected in Basrah.)

These were the approximative distribution of the losses.
2 Greek
2 Portuguese
10 Free French
3 NZ
4 AUS
5 Iraqi

+25 divisions destroyed

A minor landing was made in Marocco to distract the Axis high command but its hoped the war on the Eastern front will be distraction enough.

With the surprising Russian attack in the East the pressure on the UK has declined a lot. Manpower is very low in the UK but air and naval forces are coming along fine. Survival seems guarantueed, victory not quite. Maybe this is the end of the beginning for the Empire?
