I might deify my current ruler in my ongoing Phoenician campaign. Since he'll be a copy of preexisting deity, I asked myself if I could copy Athena (I'm Canaanite), since her buffs are really nice. Then I asked myself if the deified ruler would be a cannanite or a hellenic god. Could anyone clarify if he would be a hellenic or a cannanite deity? Thanks

I have another question now: is the additional omen effect randomly added, or is it by group (e.g. the free Province Investment only military) or is it deity specific?

The additional effect depends on the god - the wiki has them listed:

It’s called the ‘Apotheosis effect’. (That’s the link for Canaanite but the pages were all updated after 2.0 and are correct)

the whole religion section:

I was confused too - I find the best ones give the military XP, but that’s just my style :)

Also note that for every deified leader in your pantheon you get a buff (15%? Not sure) to religious conversion to that religion (so if you have 4 deified leaders you get a 60% bonus) - also a small leader popularity buff.

Also also, you will need to found Holy Sites for them as they will not have them...so found them somewhere huge for the buffs (Seleukia Megale, Antigoneia or Pella if Hellenic, Cathargo Nova or one of your city state vassals if Canaanite) - make the most of them!

Don’t found them somewhere pointless (look for the Holy Site of Zoroaster, founder of Zoroastrianism...it’s in a random village with a population of 4 )

As far as I know theres a bug. How do you do it thta the deified rulers dont get forgotten? simply only ever have 4 deified rulers, and never change or add? I personally like to build metroploeis and the fill it with three artifacts...

It’s bugged slightly - supposedly if your deified god is not in your pantheon for 20 years (4 omen cycles for non-Jewish religions), they are forgotten...

However I had another thread because I deified someone, but then had to switch to worshiping Alexander the Great for a mission, but then my deity got deleted immediately...

General rule of thumb - fill your pantheon with 4 deified leaders of your family and never switch them. You may need to plan in advance, but get the four buffs you want in to your pantheon and then deify someone appropriate when they come up (eg deify someone with 10+ martial for god of war...)

Martial and Finesse I get, but which category is Ortatory and Which is Zeal? Culture and Fertility I mean.

It seems like an oversight but basically no deity has a bonus due to oratory...

Martial buffs military gods, finesse economic, zeal is religious and cultural, and oratory...erm...

For zeal, generally if a god has a bonus that is to do with conversion or culture conversion, zeal affects it. (It’s usually something like ‘X number of pops are converted’ in a random tile)
