deleted saved game...argh

When playing a multiplayer game, both the other player and I found that we couldn't select nations after the file was transfered. This turned out to be due to the fact that EU2 had removed all the content from our saved game. We were both left with a blank file instead. Needless to say, this is annoying. 150 years gone like that.
Anybody else seen something like this?

yes goddamit it has!!!

My buddy and I effectively CANNOT play a full euII game because the friggin pile of crap game deletes our saved games every once in a while and the game take so long ot play overall then we NEVER finish. We've given up on the damm mp stuff..single only now until they fix it.

Uh? Ever tried to save on two different slots? Or it deletes your games spontaneously?

not only in mp, but also in singleplayer, its always a good and prudent idea to make backups - i do so every ten years in singleplayer
and every 20-30 i put my backup in a different folder, in case i fuck up my eu installation somehow
