Dungeons is NOT a Dungeon Keeper like game... completely different game play...as a fan of DK I really didn't like it. Perhaps it's good if you don't go in expecting DK...but the problem is most people do think it's DK.

We are currently looking at possibly releasing a demo somewhere down the line but nothing has been decided yet. Making good demos takes time/resources and we might decide that they are better spent polishing and adding more cool stuff to the game!
About DK vs Dungeons: Impire has been described as "The bastard child of Dungeon Keeper and Dawn of War" and I think that's a pretty fair description. If you liked DK you will probably like Impire as long as you don't expect it to be exactly the same or have features that work exactly the same and if you have any kind of love for tactical RPGs or RTS games.
Please allow myself to raise this one and request an update on the demo possibility.
I read good and bad comments about the game, and people seems to say that some elements are good while others say that the same element is bad. It seems hard to have a concensus thus the need of testing feels quite high.
Considering the let's plays I have seen so far I won't touch this until there is a Demo. Not being exactly like Dungeon Keeper 2 in core elements (Dungeon Building and Minion complexity/Interaction) is the fastest way on my "Only buy when Demo satisfies" list... so here is hoping too for a Demo.. no point in buying it based on hope, given that everyone tells me it's nothing like Dungeon Keeper, and more like Evil Genius mixed with Startopia in a bad wonky way. These were not bad games mind you, but it's not what I want in a dungeon.. game. Especially if done wrong (ie, having to feed squads every 2 minutes, manually) and the ladder spawn system...
The age of buying Paradox games sight unseen is also long over... at least for me
A demo is on pipeline, the dev already said this on the discussion on steam. But at this point the priority is the current release and the first patch.
A Demo is in the pipeline. We wanted to put all our energy on the release but we are working on a demo. Can't say when it will come out, the best I can say is soon...
A demo would have cost sales from people like me who would have known that the game seems to play like a RTS click fest and doesn't allow the player to carve rooms where they feel like.
Sometimes releasing demo can decrease level of pirating the game. There are many guys that dont know if the game works on their computer or want to try it a bit before buying.
IMO, demo should be released a week or two before official game launch.
