As an inexperienced player I ordered a general mobilisation as a King (of Germany) for a relatively small war.

After working my way through about a 100 pop-ups of loyal vassals sending their troops, I won my little war, but then I couldn't find an easy option to send them all home again, apart from clicking on each individual army and disband them, which was real work with so many armies.

And even then it is really impolite to disband them far from home - I think - because the soldiers will be lost and the regiment has to be build from scratch at home.

Am I missing a demobilization button somewhere?

Drag a box to select every unit, move them all into one province, merge them into one unit, and then disband. That's what I do, at least.

That is generally what I do as well. There is also a way by going into your military tab, then scrolling through and clicking on each mobilized unit of each vassal to disband. Sounds like a pain, but it's a good way if you just want to demobilize certain units, and keep your mercenaries for example. EDITForget this, this is from CK2.

Also I would recommend, if you are fighting a small war, just try using troops from provinces you directly own and only use vassals troops if you need to. Your vassals will become progresively annoyed the longer you have them mobilized. Plus with a large empire like the HRE a country wide mobilization gets messy.

EDIT 2: Using my phone to post on this forum. All the text coming and punctuation coming out weird.
