Forgive me if this new thread adds to the swampification of the forum, but I haven't seen this problem mentioned yet. Help would be greatly appreciated:

When I first pop in the HoI:Doomsday cd I get an error message, Demo32 has caused an error in <unknown>. Demo32 will now close. After clicking ok, the cd goes to the menu. I choose install. The game installs fine. Here's the problem-When I go to play the game, the loading bar loads halfway (initializing graphics, I believe)when the game promptly goes to my desktop. For a moment something like 'Demoshield, by Installshield....something' pops up. I believe the problem lies with this Demo32/Demoshield. How I got it? I'm thinking when I downloaded the HoI:Doomsday (I think it was doomsday) demo (which also did not work, which is why I subsequently deleted it, no, not properly...). My friend suggested I re-download the demo, then proceed to properly uninstall it, and that should make things right. I haven't tried it yet. So, is there anyone who can help me, please?

My computer info (should it be needed):

Game Version & Patch (incl. publisher): Hearts of Iron 2: Doomsday (no patches); Paradox interactive

OS & build/SP: Microsoft Windows Millenium Edition (4.90, Build 3000)

Computer, CPU & speed:Hewlett-Packard Pavilion Genuine Intel 850 MHz Pentium III processor

RAM: 128MB RAM

Free HDD space: 6.21GB

Video (brand, model, driver, memory): Intel 82810E Graphics Controller, i81xdw9x.drv, 5MB memory

Sound (brand, model, driver): Crystal WDM Audio, cwawdm.sys

DirectX Version: DirectX9.0c(4.09.0000.0904)

Edit: It was not the Doomsday demo I had dowloaded. I downloaded a HoI:2 demo. Right now I'm doing what my friend suggested: dowloading the demo again, then deleting it properly. Doomsday is currently off my machine.
