Before the recent patch I had issues with random Desync messages when playing multiplayer with a friend. After the patch the problem persists but is now limited to the NEXT_WEAPON_INDEX Desync message only. Once it happens (later on in a game), it always keeps happening shortly after loading and resuming a multiplayer game.
 
Is anyone else here seeing this specific issue?
 
For us it happened after saving the match and loading it again the next day. There were no issues for the entire time we initially played the match. But after loading the savegame the message always appears. Maybe an issue with the savegame file?

Also, running it on Normal Speed or Fast doesn't matter. On Normal Speed the message just takes a little longer to appear after loading and starting the match again.

We had the same issue with an reload after 1 day. The Issue was there even after a second reload with a new save a few minutes into the game. It seems to appear after a fixed time after the reload.
 
I don't suppose it is at all reproducible from a save game? If so please hit up Bug Reports!

When you choose "Host new game" on the multiplayer tab everything works fine (no desync).

But if you choose to continue your game and thus pick "Host save game" the game will desync
every 2-3 min making it unplayable. So you can't continue your multiplayer games...

Happened 3 times so far to me (on the 3 games i've tried, so 100%).
- First game was without mod and 2 players (1 own the DLC).
- Second et third game were with 2 mods (minor modification mod : just more emblems and more colors, no real gameplay changes and 3 players (2 own the DLC).

Can provide the saves if needed but the bug is easy to reproduce (start a new multiplayer game, save, rehost with the save -> OOS).

It make multiplayer unplayable for us as we don't really wont to start over each time we play :/
 
Try making sure all players are using the same language in-game.
 
This issue is common in MP and im suprised its the first topic on this matter.

The reason of this desync is Hot Join.
Thats why people often refuses new people to join the game after it started.

Basically to reproduce this error you need to do this:

1. Host MP game (Best if its end game,alot going on helps to get this error faster)
2. Allow hot join (You can allow 3 players join simultaneously,to make sure it's not separated issue)
3. Play for few years
4. You will get desync error for all 3 hot join players in the same time (sometimes its diffrent than "NEXT_WEAPON_INDEX")

And be sure it affects your game (Cant send/accept trades,move fleets etc)
Last game with a friend we ended up having 2 totally diffrent galaxies
He was in war with an empire while in my game they were still at peace.

Paradox, is there going to be a fix soon?

A few patches came by since this issue was posted and none of them did fix it.

What's the point of more content if the game isn't working? I totally stopped playing Stellaris a few month ago because of this game braking MP issue.
