In today's Dev Diary, an image of how Tributaries are gonna be visualized in the new expansion, and I was a bit disappointed when I saw they are visualized as regular vassals, inside their suzerain's realm.

I think tributaries should be visualized as independent rulers on the map with some distinction to let the player know it's a tributary state.

My suggestions:

-Make the tributaries have the same color as their suzerains. This would be a nice and easy way to inform the player that X is a tributary of Y, and would help reinforce the idea that X is somewhat under the control of Y without making Y bigger on the map.

-Make the tributary have the same outline as its suzerain. A less obvious way to tell whether a country is a tributary would be to make its realm outline the same as its suzerain, while keeping its original color elsewhere.

-CK2 way. In CK2, tributaries were shown independent and with their own color, but their suzerain's would be on their realm on the map.

I dont know final result, but right now I think that’s better to have stripes over country. And I havent seen that if its possible to get tribute from vassals of other countries. If I play as khazars and raiding bordering vassals of abbasids or byzantine, and if their overlord doesnt protect them then we could negotiate tribute so I will stop raiding. That’s actually was very common in medieval age. Also it would make more sense to establish marches on borders with tribes and nomads

I'm really hoping tributaries are available for at least admin, tribal as well as nomads. I do agree with pdx that the color of a tributary should be similar but I think it should be slightly lighter to help them stand out, maybe with a darker border with their suzareign.
