Used to be able to use dev mode by pressing F10 but since the last update it seems to have disappeared. Is there a way to get it back?

F10 was only ever accessible with a mod. As the Debug mode mod is outdated at this time, the only way to get it back is to alter the code manually.
As I'm not able to provide support for that, I'm not going to teach how to do it. If you learn how to do it yourself, you would at least know that you do it at your own risk and also know how to get the state of your game back to a playable mode.
And if you do figure it out, I'd say you're ready for the next step - to create mods yourself....
