As announced last week, Second Wave, the upcoming Division Pack for Steel Division: Normandy 44, will allow you to take control of 4 new divisions: The American 4th Armored Division, the British 1st Special Service Brigade, the German 9. Panzerdivision and the 16. Luftwaffen-Felddivision. We also revealed the Content Roadmap for the game, don't hesitate to take a look to know what's coming for you in the coming months. For those who still don't have the game, you can get 33% off Steel Division: Normandy 44 in the Paradox official store.

Let's focus today on the forefather of all Western modern special forces: the British Commandos!

Interesting write up as per usual, however this division will be totally noncompetitive by the looks of things as it doesn't get any way to deal with light vehicles and tanks beyond piats (which are borderline useless in game) in Both phase A and B.

I sincerely hope you playtest this division with competent and experienced players before release against some armored decks, it should become blindingly apparent that no AT guns until phase C is going to kill its competiveness in 1v1's.

Are the Commando assault similar to the Canadian stormtroopers (as in they use MP40s) or do they just use Stens, or a different SMG?

Likely a mix of sten and M1 thompson would be my guess.

Oh and for those wondering, IIRC 30 assault unit had access to armoured cars (staghounds and humbers, no idea if they got daimler or AEC) and jeeps with alot of dakka on them iirc (vickers K jeeps a bit like the SAS i think and also some which they stuck mg42s on and .30cals)

ironically I can see the commandos being the counter pick to the 3FJ. assuming the AT is at least capable of killing the autocannon tank.

and I see that royal marines leader using a lanchester smg.

"Its sole AT option in early game being Cmdo Tank Buster infantry teams armed with double PIAT."
This would make the division unplayable in 1v1, you need atleast some longer range AT options.

It's almost as if not every division is made for 1v1 (maybe you already know that but some of us haven't accepted it yet)
