The Inner Sphere is also ridiculously too large for a game, here are some distances:
  • Viborg (Lyran CommonWealth) - Kentwood (Federated Suns): 50 jumps
  • Richmond (Draconis Combine) - Dunianshire (Magistracy of Canopus): 46 jumps
At two weeks per jump, that's almost two years of pure travelling to get from one side to the other.
Edit: One week per jump, so roughly a year; see posts below.

(kudos to gruese for his Inner Sphere map, which allows plotting of jump routes for arbitrary systems)

It is only 1 week or so for a jump. The additional time spent traveling is getting to the planet/jump point (in system travel).

really stoked about this DD!

super happy with all of them really... there isn't anything in any of them that I can point to and say I do not like it.

Well done HBS!

Ditto the streaming!

I guess the sad thing about the new mechanic is that they only implemented the one faction specific flashpoint.

As a consolation though, I guess do get to play through all the various backgrounds as successive merc commanders recognise the superiority of the Free Worlds League and inevitably join us on the right side of history.

Umm... since you can break your Alliance...
Although it would be an insane grind you could Ally with Faction A, do the flashpoint, break alliance, rebuild reputation with Faction B, do the flashpoint, break alliance, etc. Take a heck of a long time I suspect but it seems it could be done.

I honestly have no clue what you're talking about. The only alliance that's been implemented is the one where you recognise the superiority of the League way of life and join us in overthrowing all those pretenders to the throne. ;)

On a related note I do hope that the Super Hard Flashpoints from allies are all quite individual. That way we can have fun messing with each other pointing out how the FWL flashpoint totally sucks and the only superior flashpoint is the LCs flashpoint! nyeahhh, nyeahh!:p

I think it's 3 days between jumps in this game; in TT it's anywhere between 151 hours (6.2 days) to 210 hours (8.75 days) to recharge the light sail.

So all right, at 3 days it's still half a year travel time across the Inner Sphere, at TT recharge speeds it's over a year.

Still a long time... no argument there!

Damn. Now I have to go back and rehash all of my "Love-Hate" relationships for all 5 of the Great Houses. Hmmmm... Davion #1 (perhaps)
Damn... :)

All this is true, however it still doesn't deter me from wanting the entire Inner Sphere in game :D.

this is all true..however....HBS has made allowances for such things and made adjustments before.
the Inner Sphere Map mod for example does such a thing.
you can travel from from end to the other in about 60 days give or take( only did it a couple times so dont rightly recall.

for me at least....making that kind of allowance in order to have the Draconis Combine in full play is well worth it.
cannot have a proper inner sphere BT game without the righful heirs to the Star League Throne.
besides....they cant keep us cooped up in one little corner for ever.....they gotta at least expand it a few worlds with each DLC.

Each one is a completely separate storyline with its own missions and rewards. I'm pleased with all of them, though I suspect the Steiner one is the hardest of them, because they ask you to do a scouting mission in Assaults ;)
