You should really try artillery bombardments combined with logistical strikes. Bombarding cost a lot of supplies so you might want to use attack groups of one art div with three or four non-art divs (for a larger unit supply stock). Having multiple such units you could rotate them into the attack and back out if supply level runs low. This may take long but you should be able to do a lot of infra damage, reducing ESE for the enemy units a lot.

It is very helpful to use offensive supplies for Art Bombardement. Use OS and enough Railroad Art and you can crack any defence. Log strikes seem a bit wasted because Art bombardement already does reduce infra. Bombing down the naval base to reduce ESE could be important.

There is no problem with urban provinces in E3 map for example, because of their size and number in general. But in classic HoI 2 map urban provinces should be only those, which are small and contain big city(ies), otherwise there is no reason not to make provinces like Prague, Hanover, Vienna, Lodz, Paris and many more urban terrains.

I stress again that, if you abide by my "rule" to give urban status to provinces where historically urban battles have been fought only, then the Universe's cosmic order suddenly appears restored again.

It seems strange to me that urban provinces should be granted to those places where a historic battle took place, whereas VP´s should not be allocated to places of battles that actually were quite important during WW 2.

I kind of agree - anyway, that's just my taste, you know. I wanted to have a more "accurate" map and so I made those changes, whereas I wasn't that much bothered by VPs.

Well it seems my VP changes aren't going to be included anyway. I would like to point out my VP changes do still give VPs to certain provinces where a well-known battle occurred.

A new set with Breslau being urban is onle.

Please be a little more patient. There is a lot on my agenda and that takes time.

Glad to know my ideas weren't that bad, after all :) (or better: that they, even if bad, are shared by someone else :D ;) ).

I took a look on italy AI in 1936. At the very beginning it gives very high priority to reinforcements as it should do. It gives very low priority on production. This is bad because this means that building Infra is delayed. It gets even worse because military builds like RN Littorio suck up short ic, too. I think i will remove the military builds without progress from the building queue in order to give higher Priority for Infra.

Then Odessa definitely 'deserves' to be urban as well. But I would suggest that provinces where historically urban battles occurred be a benchmark, then also for cities with a minimum population (maybe 1 million) to be made urban too.

I'd only support that if the province is sufficiently small (like Prague), and not directly adjacent to another urban province (unless the whole area between them is more or less urban). Otherwise, you'd quickly have stretches of urban provinces making a barrier as formidable as the alps where IRL most of it is open land. For that reason, I'm also somewhat skeptical with making Breslau urban (build some forts in Cottbus and the Soviets are screwed), but now that it's in, lets see how it works out.
EDIT: If we'd cut up Breslau and Oppeln like this, I'd be completely in favor of making Breslau urban:

Sure - I forgot to mention that Odessa in my mod is urban as well. Check the TP's readtme.txt file to see a complete list of the urban provinces I've added.

OK, Odessa is now Urban, too.
By accident i noticed that CL1938 neds 1.2 manpower, but BC1938 needs only 1.0 manpower. This makes no sence, does it?

[/QUOTE]It would be nice to have more provinces split up. It would be perfect to have the E3 map, or something like it. But unfortunately I don't see any such thing likely to occur for AoD.

Yeah - although the readme.txt part you read didn't include the full list of changed provinces (further additions are listed below, but I know it's my fault). There's also Vienna, which I changed some time later.

Exactly, this would make sense in this case even, if Oppeln desired urban terrain too, but considering current map it's like half of the area.

Also, if we want vanilla game to be so accurate within the map, why not improve it like Autolykos suggested in this and other parts. I tried just for fun repainting some provinces only in certain areas/regions mostly in Europe and it would be quite easy for someone familiar with map editing to do. Including any necessary scripting all the work is most probably a matter of several weeks for 2-3 people team.
