I am just trying to get a feel for how many people would be willing to join a game where you draw your own borders and RP a nation in Europe. Now, I've never done this before, so could someone let me know if I need mod approval for this? The game will be RP based, and you can create everything from the Government to the flag. If anyone wants to co-GM, or help me iron out the details, that would be greatly appreciated.

If you could do it anywhere in the world that would make it more interesting.

It would, but then we'd have fifteen unconnected countries with NPC's surrounding them. Nit as fun as bordering each other. Also, I need a name.

I've noticed those world in revolution games, they look extremely interesting. If it was something like that then I would like to join.

It would be something like that.

So, who thinks whole world would be better, and who thinks Europe? I can do either.

Personally, I would like to try a whole world environment with a historical start at some point. But I can go either way, I can go whole world or Europe, historical or fictional. Doesn't matter to me. I just think the whole style of play in the games I've seen on here, notably the WIR games and the kingdoms and khanates game, is pretty cool and I'm interested.

I think I have my hands full with my Aurora game already ;-)

Okay. I've made my decision. There are way too many forum games. i am going to wait for the forums to cool down for a bit. That said, I am still going to do the game, and it will be whole world. The time period will be about 1970 (for weapons and such). Again, if anyone wants to help me iron out the details, just shoot me a PM.

I would probably recommend the Victoria II map. It's easier to paint, and has more historical borders. It also is more realistic in proportions, and is easier on the eyes. I make the maps on another MP I'm playing, and I've found it is the easiest to use.

I would also like to claim the British Isles provinces for when we start.

I can help you out with the details, like I said, I already have templates of maps made, and I've gotten pretty good at making them, so I would be more than happy to keep an updated map.

Here's an example map I've made from my other game, I've found the vicky II maps look the best out of all paintable maps I've seen, this is the small version I use just to upload quickly, I have them on my harddrive at 54 MB lol:

Oh, was I not clear? Sorry. Anyway, you will also be drawing your own borders (Or I will be drawing them for you). So I just need to get a blank world map.

Yea I was just showing an example of what a Vicky II world map looks like, it's much better looking than the other maps. You can paint them however you want. The default versions are just colored provinces that you can open in paint and color very easily to fit borders.

I am very new to paint, so may I ask how to get rid of the country borders when I get rid of the inside? I know you use the bucket for interiors, but not sure how to do the borders.

Do you want this thread renamed something like 'hannibals game development'?

That would be good. Thanks.

Well, keep a copy of the original, with each province a different color. As you fill out countries, and a country's border changes, you can copy the small section from the original and past it to the world map, and fill in the new borders.
