Same happened to me. I guess it's related that I copied the whole folder into another disc, deleting the original. So this probably messes with the launcher, so I just reinstalled the game.

Is it posible for you guyes to contact Valve directly, I mean it does show that it is an unreliable service and you can pass along that there are a lot fo angry users who will think twice before buying an other game from Steam if the service is this unreliable...

I believe it will have greatest weight if you as a customer request more prompt patch release from Steam. I and the rest of the team have 0 influence on Steam or any other reseller as the distribution is handled by the publisher.
I have now sent a formal conplaint to Valve. Hopefully the consumer and my kind words regarding future purchaces will convince them that it is not profitable to hold back patches for games.
according to the announcement the patch is available on gamersgate, which it happens is the place I got DH from. However I have no idea how to get it...i have typed in Darkest hour patch and similar things but can't figure out were to get it from Gamersgate. Help me lol

I just created a ticket asking about the update and the "???" as version number as well. Hope they give us the patch soon!
