5 months following the announcement of this mod, it is released, finally. I still do not dare call it done, as there are alot of features I wished to implement that never got of the ground, but it is playable none the less, and after all the work I did early on I think that it'd be a waste to not release it.

In the end this is mostly just a handful of new provinces, a few decades more playtime with the earlier startdate, province history, characters and so on, nothing really fancy.

Credits
Hardradi: who gave me wagonloads of ideas, helped with titles and many other things.
Descartes: for allowing me to borrow his excellent flags.
mate0815: for the generalship titles and how that system works.

Note that I currently lack interest in Rome, and thus don't have much of an intention of continuing to work on this mod. Anyone who'd want to pick it up and develop it further, go ahead, I can just hope that this is something worth salvaging.

Here is the download link, it should work with the latest beta-patch:

What exactly does the mod change?
If it's going 'freeware' some of the mod collections or larger mods might find it useful to integrate it. (giving credit for your work of course)

Suppose I should have described what the mod entails... But in essence it just extends the timeline about 30 years back, allowing the player to fight the Diadoch Wars or unify Italy. It begins in 447 AUC, at a time when Rome was still quite small and weak, struggling in the Samnite Wars, and Alexander's Empire was still undergoing its collapse, wich would stabilize in 473AUC when both Seleucus and Lysimachus died, who were the last of the diadochi.

An additional 20 provinces, a heap of historical characters, province history data going back to 433 (but I put the start date 14 years later as I didn't think there was a way to depict those years fairly), events for the Gallic invasions that began in 475 and continued to affect Greece, Macedonia, Thrace and Anatolia for the next 8 years with severe instability.

Anyone who wants to can do what they like with it. I am quite sure that it is quite easy to integrate into another mod, despite the additional provinces.

Give us screenshots! :D
You're far too modest, I'm sure this mod is pretty awesome. I look forward to checking out the new provinces - downloading now. :)

EDIT: It's great. I didn't get any crashes, and the added provinces make a lot of sense. Some countries need flags, but that's easy to fix. Also, I'd suggest doing something about the overpowered Carthage. Perhaps by including Hardradi's Africa mod. As it is, they easily take Syracusa and start blobbing their way to Italy. All in all, a very good mod!

Vanin, did a lot of work back on this mod in the preVV days. Its no easy task to represent the changing factions of the Diadochi period. He's done a great job. Unfortunately I got to deeply involved with my mod, developed a but of a brain fart with trying to gget it run on my computer and havent added in as much as I would like to.

I think the current version is 2.2 compatible.
