There is a difference because CK2 free 2 play and EU4 DLC features (that were pay2win anyway and most fans begged to integrate them in a base game because it was borderline unplayable without these DLCs) were made free after quite a few years (in CK2 case it was 7.5 years). Imperator Deluxe Edition was integrated into base game after just 2 years.It's roughly the same argument as someone buying a graphics card in 2008 for 500 Euro and complaining someone in 2011 gets it for 50 Euro. Yes, the value shrinks and you got the early adoption bonus of better performance. That's what you paid for. Someone else getting something cheaper/free years later you paid for is NOT cheating you, ever.
2. These early adopters were actually delivered what they paid for while Deluxe Edition owners never got any significant content in a first place so they may rightfully feel scammed.
