It's roughly the same argument as someone buying a graphics card in 2008 for 500 Euro and complaining someone in 2011 gets it for 50 Euro. Yes, the value shrinks and you got the early adoption bonus of better performance. That's what you paid for. Someone else getting something cheaper/free years later you paid for is NOT cheating you, ever.
1. There is a difference because CK2 free 2 play and EU4 DLC features (that were pay2win anyway and most fans begged to integrate them in a base game because it was borderline unplayable without these DLCs) were made free after quite a few years (in CK2 case it was 7.5 years). Imperator Deluxe Edition was integrated into base game after just 2 years.
2. These early adopters were actually delivered what they paid for while Deluxe Edition owners never got any significant content in a first place so they may rightfully feel scammed.

No patches now, paradox has abandoned the game after swearing black and blue they wouldnt lol.
Factually incorrect.
The devs still refuse to see I:R as abondoned.

If it is really as abondoned as you say, why would they repeat that it will just not see any developement this year?
They have some bad releases - so the teams there need reinforcements.
They are releasing Victoria 3, a game which is highly anticipated, so they want reinforcements there.

I:R 2.0 was seen as a massive step forward and I have seen a lot of praise for the team.
The I:R team highly improved the game, so the higher ups probably hope that they can add this experience to the other games.
Iirc, Arheo himself is currently reassigned to V3.

I:R is currently in a decent spot, especially compared to their flagship EUIV, so it makes sense to use the devs of it.

Of course there is a chance this IP will stay dormant, but it is a chance and not a fact.
So please stop acting like it has become official abondonware at this point.

On the contrary, I see I:R now as the last hope for the best war GSG experience.

I honestly don't care enough about Victoria 3, it's not even III it's a 3. What are you even doing at this point. Paradox?

Jokes aside, new hyped up releases are not going to win me over, if anything they are frustrating me even more. Never would I have ever though I wouldn't be hyped for a new Victoria game but here I am. Fixes and attention to already existing games I've spent money on and really need them is what I want.

I wish Imperator to get the same ammount of amazing work as CK2 did back in the day. If CK2 devs in my mind are Gods, then the Imperator devs are at least Hercules himself.

Arheo is now on HOI4, though I also thought they would move him to V3

Hm... During PDXCON I:R and its DLCs had been sold at big discount. I wonder if anyone had bought it during recent event and now discovered this merging (if there's any)
This happened before PDXCON, so if they bought it on sale they should be pleasantly surprised at the extra content or oblivious to the fact that it is there.

I will see I:R as being in cryosleep until they say it's dead. There's still a lot they could do if they return to the game.

Also, I've never played the Victoria games, but Vic3 actually has me a bit excited. That said, I:R is still my fav PDS game. :)

Did anyone with the GOG version get the upgrade as well? Seems like I haven't.
