Hello fellow forumites. If you have already a couple hundred of hours in game I was wondering which difficulty level do you find more enjoyable to play at and why?
Also do you use any other house rules to make it more interesting?

1) Usually I play all Paradox games in normal ironman. However it seems to me that the AI in Imperator is quite passive and will not declare on you unless you have massive AE and/or low manpower. Maybe in higher levels the AI is more prone to attacking the player?
2) Regarding the house rules, as I play quite casually and don't go after super difficulty achievements I usuall follow the below house rules:
a) Don't attack the majors very early on (as it is quite easy to rush them - especially Rome).
b) Try not to rush peace but rather sue for peace only after I have won a few (at least) battles.
To be honest if i start as a very weak tag I might need to break these rules (for example if playing as a vassal of a major).
c) Only build aqueducts when necessary for a mission and very very rearly in early game if indeed i need the extra pop cap.
I tend to stick with this last one.
Of course I try to avoid all possible bug - exploits as well.
