difficulty options

hello all...i am looking for a much harder economic game...so...

is there away to adjust the difficulty options and make the price of everything much higher!!! I see the option for custom difficutly...but it is blank..

You have a lot of options.

- You can set difficult settings to Expert
- You can just charge a lot less on ticket prices
- You can use the ruleset editor and edit some variables that will make the game harder such as: increase private car ownership which will make harder for cims to choose your services over their private car; you can increase vehicle enery consumption meaning you will have much higher costs, increase vehicles price, depot price, stations price.

You can find the ruleset editor in the main menu by clicking on tools.

Don't forget to save your rules after setting them in the editor.
Afterwards, you have to start a new sandbox game and select your ruleset.

You can also change the rules of the ruleset in the middle of the game. So you can start with cheap vehicle price and then increase it. That is why its recommended to always start a game with a ruleset, even if its just not to change anything, because that give you the option to change anything in the saved game later.

Be careful with changing the game time speed in the ruleset after starting the game. When I did it once, my game was ruined because the clock and sunlight hasn't changed but the buses departures times changed, so they started to use different clock from the one at the bottom of the screen.

This just made the game more realistic. Where I live, it looks like the bus company is using a different time rules than the rest of the country.
