To the Upstart, Schismatic Russian Principalities:

I have returned from my illness and recovered to hear of great injustices done to my realm. Poland's ally, the Kniaz of Pronsk, was attacked by the Princes of Kiev and Pereyaslavl quite conveniently when I, Boleslaw Piast, was ill in my sickbed. Now, I am full of energy once more, and my tongue thirsts for vengeance. The people of Poland fought and died against the Russian heretics. There shall be much more bloodshed in the future, however, when I come knocking at the Golden Gates of Kiev. There shall the city be torn asunder, and I shall bring my wrath down upon you who dare to challenge me. The Prince of Kiev shall be ripped from his throne and cast upon the ground. The people of the city shall rejoice as they see their oppressor beaten and kicked. And upon that day, I shall stand triumphant over the lands of Kiev, and I shall demand the full allegiance of the Rurikovich line in Kiev, and they shall all die should they refuse it. A storm is coming out of the west, and I shall ride it through to the lands of the Cuman, lest ye stand in my path.

However, I have a merciful side as well, my Prince. I offer you the olive branch now, that many lives might be saved, and that God may smile upon our lands. The cost of this peace however, shall be your sovereignty. You must pledge allegiance to the crown of Poland. In return, the line of Piast shall forever protect the Rurikoviches of Kiev so long as Kiev keeps its promise. The Kingdom of Poland shall aid the Prince of Kiev in amassing such wealth and power that his people may grow fat from indulgence, and his lands be green with the fruit of the harvest. The two lines of Piast and Rurikovich will intertwine, and they shall not want.

Before you lie two paths, my good Prince. Choose wisely.

The Prince of Kyiv adamantely refuses to become a Vassal to the King of Poland, we are strong, you are strong. But we are stronger and thus we will win.

If you fight us you only hurt yourself.

I suggest you leave us peaceful Russians alone and stay in your own lands and deal with your own issues.

If you invade us we will not rest until we have all of Poland.

Leave us along and we leave you alone.

You and Ponsk invaded us with no cause and now Polish and Ponskian lives are now dead becuase of such foolishness and we will not cease until all of the Russia's are now under the Rurikovich dynasty to ensure peace among the russian peoples but however we have no claims on Poland and do not wish to invade Poland.

To our Christian Brother the honourable and pious young King of Léon, Castille and Aragon.

We have been told of your struggles with the wretched infidels of southern Iberia. They are currently splintered, but if, God forbid, they were to be united again under a strong leader they could be a threat to all of us. Recognizing this threat, to ourselves and our Catholic Brothers, we the King of England wish to take on the sacred duty of fighting these infidels alongside our Christian Brother of Léon if need be. We would consider it an honour of divine proportions if God would allow us to free and restore the Kingdom of Portugal under a member of the house of Normandie, to be a faithful ally and shield alongside the noble house of Jimenez.

So thus the Prince of Novgorod & Kyiv would like to express our wish once again for peace and to be left alone, and announce that we have no wish to quarrel with Poland under any circumstances, but we wish to remain independant but are fully willing to extend the hand of friendship to our neighbours; Poland, Bohemia and Hungary, and Sweden. And wish to remain at peace with all of you.

However the wish to be friends does not equate the wish to become under your thumbs, and we wil defend our territory against all aggressors.

I, Vratislav 'The Just' Premyslid, King of Bohemia, am happy to hear that Mstislav 'The Brave' Rurikovich, Veliky Kniaz of Kiev, is having no foul intentions against the peaceful czech people. We assure the russian people that we have no foul intentions either.

I Prince of Kyiv is glad to hear from the King of Bohemia and wish to discuss a wide varaiety of topics for the mutual benefit of our peoples and to discuss arranging for the mutual defence of Bohemia and Kyiv and its outlying Principalities. We invite the King of Bohemia for dinner in Kyiv.

However we also would like to discuss such issues with Poland, Hungary and Sweden to insure the peace and stability of Eastern Europa.

While We do appreciate Your offer to aid Us in Iberia against the Muslim forces there, the Leonese court must reject it at this time. With Our kingdom in a precarious position seeing as how My monarch is but five years of age, how can it make sense to be rid of the Muslims only to create a new Kingdom of Portugal that might prove just as dangerous in the near future?
However, We would be open to negotiating the partition of the Duchy of Braganza with Your Majesty. OOC: *hint hint*

The king of Sweden wants to express his will to have peace instaured in northern Europe, his influence is poor and his army is not in the best shape, but his nation's spirit is unbreakable and he shall fight to death if his country is attacked. That said, I send greetings to the courts of Kiev, Norway, Poland and Germany as these countries are my neighbors and i want to have close relations with them. I also hope to have contacts with England and France, strong powers in the west.
Bohemia is a close friend and i hope it continues like this.
Last but not least, i have to state that Estonia and Finland are pagan lands that will be converted to catholicism by swedish monks meaning it's off limits for other countries, is the only claim that i hope my neighbors respect.

Lithunia is within a hair of becomming converted to Orthodoxed and becomming the first King title to Kyiv/Novgorod. However I'm sure we can word out something mutually beneficial.

As the King of Serbia, i was absent in ruling my Kingdom. But a decade spent in my monestary, i've heard God's words. His commands is only for me to be known as the sole ruler of my demense. I will make the arrogance of my neighbours invasions during my absense be paid with blood, and it will be known that we hold our independance dear. Already has our orthodox ally of Nubia been occupied by Muslim forces, and we will prepare for the arrivals of them while we seek new allies and see the heretics advance past Byzantion. Let it be known that our troops will always be ready for any Crusade's the Orthodox patriarch calls for.

We also wish to have good relations with the emerging great powers of europe, and have balance of power between them to ensure that uneccessary bloodspill does not prevail. We already look a little bit suspiciously on the invasion of Hungary, but alas the reason for the invasion is unknown for us and therefor we will merely observe for now. As long as that influence does not interfer with the nations in suthern Europe we will maintain peacefull relations with Poland.

Th King of Norway will recieve Sweden's movement of peace with great respect as neighbors and friends. As to your proposal....


I king Olaf Haraldsson Yngling of Norway have thought over your proposal greatly and have a proposal of my own which I hope we can see eye to eye on.

I have reigned all my years thus far in peace, and I wish to continue that. I just ask for one thing in exchange of the many gifts I will bestow upon you if you wish to accept my proposal. You have a border province that is next to my capital by the name of Varmland. My ancestors have dwelt in it for countless times and by right and claim has been Norway's for many years. I have not pressed this claim as to hold the peace as brotherly neighbors should, though I ask now that you hear my terms.

1. I will indefinately recognize your rights to the lands of Finland and Estonia and my pledge no Norweigan army will set foot upon it.

2. I will muster 500 gold and send it to you as soon as it is possible. In the presence of all other countries that witness this potential treaty I solemnly swear to you on my honor you will have it.

3. I have a daughter by the name of Thora Yngling who when of age can be married away to any of your future sons to strengthen our relationsip as neigbors.

4. Accepting this term means that for all my days as king I will never raise arms against Sweden even in the face of upsetting allied friends. Your western borders will be safeguarded. And so long as I live I will not allow to see Sweden fall to the hands of a foreign invader.

These terms are up to you and we can barter and change terms. I eagerly await your response Erik King of Sweden.

The King of Sweden is a little confused about Kiev's prince's words, Sweden will not meddle in Lithuania if that is what the prince is asking us not to do, but Estonia belongs to no crown, that's why Sweden is claiming it to make part of a great baltic nation. I hope it's all a missunderstanding.

I also have to declare that i appreciated the kind words from norway, i shall study the deal and give an answer soon.

The Prince of Kyiv awcknologes that there have been a misunderstatementermizatoriztmahozitz going on so we gladly announce that we have no claims on Estonia and will be happy to allow our friends a land frontier with us.

There shall be no peace until the schimatics have accepted that they must be ruled over by a Catholic king or convert to the One True Faith, Roman Catholicism. My grandfather, Volodymyr the Great, brought Kiev to see the light once. I shall not let it slip back into darkness. There shall be a mighty war throughout the lands of Rurik and the order shall be torn asunder. The sun shall set, looking upon a greatly changed land. The Dniepr shall run red with blood. From the skies shall rain arrows of wrath, and sharpened steel shall clash upon the field of battle. We will meet face to face, oh little Prince Whether you or I, my good Kniaz of Kiev, stand at the top of the heap of corpses, is yet to be decided.

There are others, oh great king of Piasts that look suspiciously on your brave declarations. There are nations which above all need peace. However, if there is no peace in our time, they wont throw away the war arrow either..

We would like to assure our friend Léon that a freed Portugal would not exceed its historical boundaries, nor do We wish to act before His Highness is ready and willing to fight. Regarding Braganza, We the King of England wishes to conserve Our strength to fight off the infidels, from the Greek Empire, Iberia and the Holy Land. Still, We are glad that His Most Honourable Majesty will accept Our friendship, if not Our swords at this point in time.

The Prince of Kyiv hearkens at th words of the King of Bohemia and asks if a mutual defencive arrangement can be devised to deal with possible aggression from... the... West... I am certain we can come to something mutually benefitial.

The good and most catholic King of Germany, Heinrich von Franken, supports in many ways, the spreading of catholism, and with Poland a catholic realm, united under a catholic king, fears that, if Kiev is allowed to grow too strong, we will see a great clash of the schismatic followers of orthodoxy storming down, and converting Poland, Hungery, Bohemia with the sword. I shall never stand idle by, and letting it happen. Even if the good king of Poland is a bit harsh in his words, he speak sooth.

then you would not mind defending Poland in case such an attack occurs but stay neutral should Poland unjustly attack Kyiv.

I have no wish to harm Poland or gain Polish territory, we have no need for poles in our land but will defend ourselves if attacked.
