Aw, I like the movie. Plus, you have to agree the visuals are great in that scene.

And besides, if I wanted to be really true to the source material I should have posted pictures of the last chapters of the book.
I like the movie too, even if I disagree with some lyrical changes. Still think the play is superior. Can't wait to see what you have for the Ottoman Empire.

Holding out for Arabian Nights from Alladin.

Disband A Moscow?

So the Germans go crusading with their fleets while the home centers of Central Europe are crushed by the Roman legions.

Wow.

By the way, I suppose edelweiss sung by Bill Lee would make a fitting epitaph for this Austria.

Next up :

Spring 1907 Retreats will fall on Wednesday 4th of October, at 20:00 GMT.

PS: Could be fun to run a face to face Diplomacy game with music playing according to the events on the board

That would be amazing. It could also sort of be done online, with a GM that posts a different video to use for background music with every update, but in both cases it probably requires someone with far better musical knowledge than mine.

There was literally no reason for Germany not to move A Bur - Mar.
Britain could also move F Eng Channel - MAL and F Bre - Gas and not really lose anything.
In other words, Britain and Germany are throwing the game.

...yep.

And it seems they don't even know it.

F Eng was needed if Germany went Nth to York and F Bre - Gas alone would be insufficient. Plus, I am not threatening Britain with 7 builds aimed against Albion.

Germany could take Marseille but they would lose it next year unless Austria forced disbands, and they would have to be prepared to deal with armies in Bohemia, Tyrol and maybe even Silesia.

Truth is, as this turn's moves showcased, I am not anywhere close to winning the game.

Lie after lie after goddamned lie. This man lies to your face. HE is not to be trusted.

That is all.

If I moved it to Marseilles;
1)Munich would fall the other turn. If Munich didn't fall, any other place that I didn't defend would fall.
2) I wouldn't be able to use the army to take Belgium this turn
3) I would gain the hostility of Italy, which I don't want to happen since my hands are full with England.

This year's spring results are interesting but not the most relevant discussion.

IMO, the main question of Germany / Britain is as follows:

What will you do when Austria is dead (something I am fighting to delay but is inevitable without support)?

Italy will then be on 15 or so supply centers and the three remaining centers would be picked up from Con, Ank, Rum, Sev.

He doesn't need to attack you, and he won't. But unless you intervene soon, he will win. There is no stalemate line to stop him.

There is no way for either Germany or Britain to overcome the other fast enough to make a rival bid for the solo.

Either GB and Germany put aside their differences and join the fight against Italy, or Italy wins.

Full stop.

Well, I tried to have peace with Britain. If someone is to be blamed, it is Britain.

Did you?

Disband A Mos did not back up your words...

Us giving them St. Petersburg a couple of turns ago was supposed to be part of a peace deal, and England decided to backstab, yet again.

The main point still stands.

You are going to lose to an Italian solo unless peace is made.

Put aside revenge, and make a deal.

There is no trust between us, it seems. Any deal is highly improbable at best, though it isn't like we haven't tried.

The risk of letting the UK gain some supply centers temporarily so that the game can go on has got to be better than an inevitable loss, right?

We are past the point where playing selfishly ends well.

You can lose by yourself, or you can join us and have a chance at not losing...

Sticking with a war with GB is a terrible long term strategic choice.

We made the peace overtures, and they were the ones who refused. The continued war is what they want, not what we want. As long as England wants to keep fighting us, there's not much we can do.
