Dire Problems...

Hey all, me and my friend were trying to play MP for the first time, but encountered a few problems...

We first tried to go through IP, but even after we both tried to host it said that we couldn't find a game under that IP.

We checked to see if our firewalls were down and it seemed like they were.

We both had the same version of the game along with the same 4 letter code too.

We tried Hamachi to go through LAN and that didn't work, then we tried Gameranger with an odd result... Basically when i hosted and launched the game it took me straight through to the MP waiting room yet nothing happened with him, but when he hosted through Gameranger the first thing to come up was the game launcher and not the game itself.

We looked through the MP tips section at the top of the forum and according to him (he knows more than me about internet things) we tried everything (i assume we did).


Any help at all? we're desperate :l

There are several routers which have their own firewall. Maybe there is an issue ?

I think, to connect through your IP, you first have to forward your ports using your router's interface, if you haven't done that.

What kind of router do you use? Maybe you should disable your firewall on your router or like bertranx said forwarding your ports.

Haven't had any problems playing with Tunngle ever. It's like Hamachi, but seems to have far less problems with games. You should try that out!
