Direct2drive problem with HOI 2

I bought the complete pack HOI 2, DOOMSDAY AND ARMEGEDDON.

I run the game fine but after a opening video scene I get a fatal error could not initialize video and the game goes to desktop on both HOI2 and armergeddon. I tried using a patch off paradox site but that won't recognise my game as being installed assume its because it's the complete pack and a digital download? Is the complete version off direct2drive already fully patched if not where is the patch?

Another problem is the cd key provided to me by direct2drive is to long to register the game on this forum?

And one last thing I have HOI3 but cannot register it on the forum as it's a second hand game I think. That game has terrible lag is that a normal problem anyway way to fix it? Bit angry as I bought HOI2 to play while waiting for patch 3 for the HOI3 and now can't play either!

Tried renaming the avi folder (not the files inside just the folder) problem still occured.

There is usually a version number in the top right hand corner of the opening screen.

The latest official versions of the games are :

HOI2 - 1.3a
Doomsday - 1.3a
Armageddon - 1.2

D2D say their games are pre-patched. Any possible patches should be downloaded from the D2D website : http://www.direct2drive.com/patches/index.aspx.

Normal patches won't work with digital downloaded games.

Same Problem

I have the same problem. Upper right hand corner says v 1.00 (CRWK). Any ideas would be appreciated.
