I was playing EU2 (vanilla) as the Ottoman Empire the other day. It was around 1530 or so, and I was at war with Venice. I had two armies, one besieging Cyprus, the other besieging Crete. Crete fell to my army, so I loaded it onto my fleet and sent it toward Tripolitania to put down a rebellion before moving on to the next Venetian island of Corfu. Then suddenly, both of my armies disappeared. The one army, with Suleiman the Magnificent as its general, vanished from my fleet (the fleet itself was still there, but the army aboard was gone), the other army vanished from Cyprus which it had still been besieging, and suddenly I didn't control Crete anymore, even though it had just fallen to me. The war hadn't somehow ended (I had no allies in the war, so Venice couldn't have made peace with my ally to force peace with me), so we were still at war, I wasn't defeated in battle, the Venetians had no armies or fleets anywhere nearby, no rebellions happened, and even if they had, how would that explain Suleiman and his army vanishing from my fleet (which was massive, far more than large enough to hold the whole army, so losing ships to attrition couldn't explain it)? I also still had a third army in Syria, which hadn't disappeared, so the only armies I lost were the ones on Cyprus and my fleet just off Crete. This has never happened before. I was so pissed off I just shut down the game. What. in the world. happened?

Are you using the latest patch of EU2, version 1.09?

Have you looked in the ledger if the army is still listed among the other armies and just not displayed on the map?

What is the date of your last savegame, probably January of that year using yearly autosaves?
