Hi

I just played the new DLC today on my map..

But I'v noticed some buildings disappeared out of nowhere.. And it doesn't seem to be a certain pattern in it. just entire areas (city blocks) where buildings are gone. What can cause this.

Can it be plop the growables mod not working? ps. And if so do the building reappear when the mod is up to date.? pps. Why would a mod not work after a update. isn't it just extra data added?

Could it be a lack of ram? I currently have 16GB. and before the update I'v noticed via the loading screen mod that I used "a lot" 11GB and 16GB was present on the loading screen.. not entirely sure what it means though.
________

-Also a question about the surface painter mod. I noticed all paint is gone every time I just add a single asset. If I not change anything it's fine everytime I load the game. any fix, so I can add new assets without have to repaint the whole map.
________

-I think I might have "broken" my safe after this new DLC. What can I do to avoid this in the future? I like
checking out the new updates and assets. But I really don't enjoy doing the same work over and over again on my map. It's many MANY of hours i'v used already.. Can you "save a list of assets and updates" to fit with a gamesafe? So I can rollback to a previous version, while working on a single map?

Do you have the mod Disable Zone Check? It is known to break Plop the Growables. Does it happen on the first load after restarting the game? Or only when you load again or go back to the main menu and load again, without quitting the game first?

As for Surface Painter it isn't the only mod that has problems with this. You should just avoid subscribing to anything while a save is loaded. It breaks a bunch of things and you have to restart the game anyways for those new things to load.

If you have not saved over your save yet, you might not have done any damage to it. If you have saved over it, there isn't anything to do I'm afraid. Generally you should never save over the same file, but save as a new file every time you save - especially when there's been a patch. I just add a number at the end every time I save, so I have CityName1, CityName2, CityName3 and so on. That way you can go back if something gets messed up with the latest save and not lose everything. There's always a risk when using mods, so you can't ever really eliminate that. But reading mod description so you know what the mods affect and if they can be safely disabled any time is a good start. If you haven't seen it already, I also suggest you check out this post which is all about how to handle a patch with mods. :)

Hi

No I don't have the mod disable zone.. I'm going to look at it as I type this...

The buildings disappear mid game... thats why I though it could be a ram issue?!? because I can see now on the loading screen mod that it show up to 21 GB of the below value.. still not sure if it means, that it will use 21GB if I plop all my assets in to a map?

About the surface painter I'v read that loading a safe again could help that. so I will try that. Also I found my safe from before the new DLC.. so thats good it's not broken. I have autosave on. so I dont accidental lose hours of build (have happened before LOL) but that the autosafe is not overriding the main safe so thats good :)>

But is there a way to backtrack? So I could continue on a city with that specific version of game, with that mods and assest that worked at that time?

Also.. If anyone have a good list of mods if I just wanna place my own buildings`? and keep them ;) like placing "dead" buildings? would be great :)

Now I use... find it, plop the growables, and move it. installet (for that purpose)

Because with this setup I can place them.. but if it's not historical i will sometimes change to a different building. If it historical it might get abandoned, but i can live with that. then it's just going to stay abandoned until I'm all done with my city and then i can re plot all the abandoned buildings :)

RAM issues usually cause the game to crash or give you really low fps. Buildings wouldn't disappear. If the buildings didn't load, you wouldn't see them at all, they would just not be there. So I don't think that's it. For the loading screen the top number is the amount of RAM it's using and the bottom one is the amount of virtual RAM (basically using the harddisk in a way like it was RAM, only it's much slower). 21GB for virtual RAM usage is pretty high and you might want to consider getting rid of some workshop assets to lower it. I generally recommend having both numbers stay white or orange, but avoid them turning red.

I'm not sure why they would be disappearing. It might be worth unsubscribing from Plop the Growables, waiting a moment for it to be removed, then subscribe to it again and restart the game. If that doesn't do the trick, then you can attach your output/player log to a post here which might reveal some hints at what's happening. Here's how you can find it.

There's no way to go back to an older version of the game no.

When you get to the main screen for Cities you can do this by going to content manager , highlight your save game >> on the right side you can click to "Load ALL" this will enable only the mods and assets that WERE enabled at the time the Game was saved.

MY game likes to start up with everything disabled sometimes.
