After contacting paradox support they asked me to submit a bug here.

When a prison is getting bigger the multiplayer will disconnect people connected to the session. With a small prison it only stutters once in a while but when the prison gets bigger its getting unplayable. I haven't seen this problem getting solved in the last +2 years so i'm hoping a developer could take a look into this. Ive added a savegame to this threat so it can be reproduced. A friend of mine also said the game was stuttering.

Enviromentals:
* Me and my friend have both a 1gbit (up and down) internet connection
* He lives about 75km away from me.
* Ping between our computers is low all the time (also when getting disconnected)

Steps to reproduce:
* Load save-game
* Let a player connect to it
* Blueprint a section of the prison
* And let it get build
* Players connected to the session will get disconnected.

Running latest steam-version of the game. No mods installed.

There was a major patch last year that fixed many MP issues, and reports like this have dropped away to almost nothing since then.

But I can't remember if that patch was before or after you made this thread, I'm sorry.

If you start a new test prison under the current patch do you still get this?

I've tried it tonight and its still causes a crash.

How to reproduce:
- New game
- Large size
- 1 person joined (+host)
- Unlimited money
- 200 workers
- Build some large quantities of cells
- Clone them
- And the game will crash

Please attach here a .prison file that causes this for you. You'll need to zip it up to attach it.

@Enigmaticrose4 can you have that save checked out please? See if it happens elsewhere too?

The game crashes so it’s impossible for me to make a savegame. Can’t you use the steps I’ve written down to replicate it? I was able to do this in 5 minutes.
Due to how IV implemented multiplayer and how the game wasn't originally designed for it there are definite issues and, sadly, always will be. Best I can offer is a work around in doing smaller clones. Perhaps cell by cell instead of the block. More time consuming, but not as stressful on the connection.

Yesterday I've tested this with a friend of mine without any cloning. We only made a fence around a large map and placed 4 offices for employees. Then my friend got disconnected.
