Hello everyone!

I think there are a lot of people that want to have cities with style of some country (American town, English town, Finnish town, German town and etc.) or districts (Chinatown, Little Havana and etc.). There will be DLCs and modded buildings, that will help us to do this. But I afraid they will be mixed up, as it was in SCs, where it was hard to keep the style of the city. We had to buldoze buildings that we don't need or plop buildings that we need (but we can drow zones then).

But now, I think I have a solution! As far as I know there will be ability to make districts in C:SL and policies inside them. But why we can't make style policies. For example if I want to see russian buildings in this distlrict, and i turn on the same style.

How I think we can add this styles:
-Original style and DLCs will have their style option. U add DLC -> style added.
-Modders can make bulding pack, and they will appear as styles in menu.
-Players can make their own styles inside the game, using special tool, that helps you to choose original/dlc/mod buildings, tht you want to see in this district, and save as style.

Also I add a pic, where I show, how I think it can look.

If you like the idea, or want to make it better pls comment!

P.S Sorry for my bad English and photoshop skills:unsure:

I also thought of it that way. But didn't they say policies are unmoddable?

May be. I heard diffecrent opinions about it. Anyway, developers can read this thread, and make something similar some time. Or modders will find some way to do it without using policies. I just wanted to know if it is possible and needed.

Well, there's an AMA going at Reddit right now. I think you'll have better luck there.

When CO get around to doing different architectural styles I do hope this is how they do it, being able to designate a specific district too have different architecture to the rest of the city will be amazing, like making an older part of town.

I also think it'll be a cool idea too also allow players to choose the default architectural style when starting a new game, a bit like how SimCity 3000 did it.

I am planning to make multiple buildings like this

It would be really nice if we could set the districts to have only those. Or make ALL buildings ploppable like cities XL.

I really hope they will add this kind of an option along with the European buildings DLC.
Even better if they would allow us to pack together buildings that we make in asset editor into "style packs",
so we could fine tune the style of neighbourhoods as much as we like by choosing what "style packs" would be allowed in what district.

I used to do a lot of bulldozing back in SC4 to get the neighbourhoods to look the way I liked :p Even with the vague styles you could choose for your city.

One other thing I really hope they will add is the option to make buildings historical as in SC4.
When I get a fuel station into some nice spot I don't want to come back and see it turned into something else.
