So.. I enjoyed KA.... I havent finished it but I thought I would support the developers and buy Saxons and Druids.
KA and Druids were bought from GamesPlanet, but they did not have The Saxons. So I was referred to Impulse buy Paradox and bought it there. After buying and downloading it from Impulse (which is shite btw) my installation was ruined. I could not start up any game, just got a run time error. (yes, they were all installed into the same directory) and it terminates. After putting in 20 hrs and wanting to support the developers I am Fed over. Thanks very much.

I reinstalled KA and the game seems to work, but my saves games wont load. This is unfortunate as I usually can put in max 1 hour of playing a day so I have spent many days getting to where I was. I cant really get myself to restart yet anyway. And all this from trying to support the developers...

I'd guess that Impulse wants you to have the main game installed *through Impulse*, not a stand-alone version. It will probably be very difficult to make an Impulse version work with a DLed game. It's the same situation as if you had bought Saxons through Steam; Impulse was not the place to go if you wanted to only buy the expansion. :/

If I had other options I would have bought through Gamesplanet as the two other purchases. However, The Saxons were only available through Impulse and Steam. I think the developers should think a bit ahead when it comes to possible compatibly issues between different offerings of the same game.

Neocore, am I stuck with an unusable purchase?

Thanks for replying to my poll, and now that I read your thread I find I agree completely. I WANT to give my money to purchase the Druids, but fear that it will not work due to the fact that I have King Arthur and the expansion (Saxons) on Impulse. Gamer's Gate had a great sale a while back of having everything for about $18, but I already owned 2 of the 3 and did not get it for that reason. Now, I am in fear that I will not be able to purchase the Druids, and was quite angry that I had to wait 8 months for the DLC that steam got last January and then about 3 months for the Saxons (which has the DLC included).

I don't understand this either, Neocore (and Paradox). Why do you make things but then give them to people to sell in such a "user-UN-friendly" way?

I am very frustrated (and have been for 13 months, since last January when steam got DLC and Impulse got it in Oct. or Nov.)!

@Panzer76: We are sorry to hear you have trouble and we fully understand your frustration.

Although we always recommend our gamers to buy their DLCs and expansions at the same place where they bought the base game. It can happen that a DLC is not available somewhere - in such cases please contact Paradox Interactive or the digital download platform (like Impulse or GamesPlanet in this case).

I contacted Impulse and they couldnt do anything. If you are to release the game on a platform, could you PLEASE make sure that ALL DLC's will also be available for everyone? OR, that they will work across the different platforms. As it stands now, I cannot purchase the Saxons without buying KA & The Druids over again on a different distribution platform. Needless to say, I wont be doing that. The result for you? Frustrated customer and loss of income.
