I just logged into stream and updated the game, when I started it up (with every DLC ticked on mind you) it made all of the DLC unavailable for some reason. The Old Gods start date is also no longer present. Oh and there are no portraits. Somehow this new patch is preventing all of the DLC from working...

Try removing this folder: C:\Users\<username>\Documents\Paradox Interactive\Crusader Kings II

Please backup this folder first though: C:\Users\<username>\Documents\Paradox Interactive\Crusader Kings II\save games

I did that, nothing changed. I'm on a Mac if that changes anything.

Try these

If on MAC: Disable the Steam In-Game Overlay for Crusader Kings II

If on Windows, try a clean re-install:

* Important: Go to '..\Documents\Paradox Interactive\Crusader Kings II\save games\' and copy all the save games you want to keep outside the folder

* Uninstall Crusader Kings II
- Uninstall the game from within steam by right clicking on the game and select "Delete content"
- Go to the folder where you installed Crusader Kings II in, and check if the Crusader Kings II folder is removed. If not, delete the entire folder
- Installation folder can be found at: "..\Steam\SteamApps\common\"

* Remove document files
- Go to "..\My Documents\Paradox Interactive\" and remove the entire Crusader Kings II folder
- Re-install the game

Seriously though, is there any way to solve this? I've verified my game cache, reinstalled the game, removed the CK2 folder from my documents... Nothing works so far...

Hoping AndrewT will be able to spot something that Dirty L and I have missed

Did you start up the game in Steam online once after deleting the documents folder first and then check afterwards again ?
That might be necessary so that the DLCs get recognised.

I did the same thing, reinstalling and so on and it didn't work either.
I'm giving at least 24 hours for Paradox to fix their stuff, because this can't be anything else but a bug. No matter which version I install, 2.1 (which by the way makes every one of my saves obsolete) or 2.04 the DLCs aren't displayed.

Same thing about the 2.04...

And yes I did start up in Steam. Doesn't seem to help. I'm wondering if this is because of the fact that I don't have the Rajas DLC...

I'm telling you it's a vast scheme to make us pay 15€ for the new expansion.
Sit tight, it'll probably be back to normal tomorrow, it's the middle of the night in Europe. They're probably working their ass off right now fixing it. Or maybe not.

Nah it's a kinda common issue, but the clean install usually takes care of the issue

The new update and DLC totally f***ed up the game. I purchased Rajas of India, and not only are DLCs not working properly (in my case it seems to be mainly the Unit Portrait Packs), but somehow my liege, Hugo of Anjou, is the "Duchess" of Anjou. And now the game decides to crash randomly, again. I thought they had fixed that. Really, I expected more from Paradox. They obviously rushed this to market, and it is by no means ready for it. I will certainly be reconsidering any further Paradox purchases in the future.

I too have the exact same problem on PC.
I hope it's just the new expansion updates issues and not a scheme to make me buy Rajas of India.

Even if you bought the expansion you'll still get the same issue. Seems like India broke the game for everyone on a 32bit system.

So it's not a scheme. I bought all the DLC (cept for the EU4 export, since I dont have that game yet) and it's still broken.

In the meantime I'm just downloading new drivers so I'll be ready for the eventual hotfix that might depend on it.

It's not just 32 bit systems. I'm running 64, and its broken for me as well. Hugo has now switched back to "Duke", but the game is very unstable. Also, not sure if this is a glitch or a patch change that I missed in the notes, but I can't be a guardian to any children if I am on my lieges council, including my own children. If this is a bug or if this is a new change, either way it is ridiculous. I've tried clean installs, Steam verification, nothing is fixing the problems Paradox had created here.

Ah this is a separate issue then, my bad.

After they get this game to work on 32 bit systems again I hope I don't run into this issue next. I deleted the documents folder just in case. Plus all my old saves. Not like I'll be using them. Since I either play a fully updated game or don't play at all and look for some kind of refund.

I don't have a 32 bit system, it still doesn't work.

I've had something similar happen. My Norse unit pack doesn't seem to work anymore instead norse units show up as generic troops. The Norse unit DLC is checked and all other unit DLCs, i have most of them, seem to be working as are my other DLCs. Tried deleting the users/crusader kings 2 folder and reinstalling the game via steam but it still doesn't work.
