I'm curious how many people are fiddling with DNA values and/or making a DNA maker like CK's? At the moment I'm creating an entirely new scenario and I want the characters to look a certain way, but it's hard tweaking little things here and there to produce exactly what you want.

Regardless, I've discovered (at least I've not seen it around, feel free to correct me though) that changes seem to only work if you use a numeric value of 11. Example, the following phrase would result in a unique DNA sequence that works;
Code:
dna="luigimedici"

Additionally, the characters ID also seems to impact his appearance. I've not yet discovered how hairstyles can be changed, but the "properties" command seems to mostly control facial hair, though I'm sure there's more to it even if I've not seen it yet.

If anyone wants to add to this thread, please do! I've not seen a thread discussing DNA modding yet or any help on how to use it, so I hope this (little bit) helps and we can get far more helpful information in here.

(EDIT)

I should note that the properties tag seems to need a numeric value of six letters/numbers, e.g,
Code:
properties="medici"

DNA changes neck, mouth, ears, etc. and properties changes hairstyle, beard/mustache, etc. Some thing like clothes can change during gameplay, and hair/eye color also depends on culture.

There is one topic about it already, here: http://forum.paradoxplaza.com/forum/showthread.php?584437-Where-is-character-DNA-and-other-stats - you can find which value of DNA is which (more and less)

I can only add, that one of values is surely in range "a" to "p", so it's about 16 different kinds of it.
