How many divisions/IC and planes do you guys have at france/barrbarossa?


My latest and most successful campaign (won over poland at 14th, got france about a month after, completely destroyed brits having encircled over 30-70 division) i had at barrbarossa were:


Armored force
19 light armored
6 motorized
3 waffen ss (event unit)

Infantry
40 divisions divided in fives all with eng (to have them keep up with tanks and to be able to help extra over rivers for tanks also to defend for tanks)
3hq
1branden
2mountain
12 gar
a total of 85 infantry

Airforce

12 fighters 3 int

16 tacs (with escorts)

3 transports

for 35 total airwings


Ic = roughly 322 with bonuses

However nearly all is 39 ver (got around 150-180 ic pumping in upgrades tough its 1st of june)


Do i have a chance?

My main strategy was as always do the oddessa and jelgava (north and south) encirclement to then encircle middle, which worked good but well when i have gotten those done its usually frozen which means i can't do anything.

And next year even with superior numbers and airforce i just can't break trough anywhere

even when i loaded up as russia and just didn't do anything i still had around 180 divisions at winter and that is not taking into account the huge amount of divisions i am building plus the fact that i just didn't do anything. And don't forget the 40ish divisions trapped in leningrad which i can easily liberate due to winter.

I think its good enough. Maybe little bit too much armor.

Always remember that moscow is your main subject! Use the rivers in your advantage and also urban area. Because in the winter 41 u must have good defense positions.

My numbers at start Barbarossa (last game with Final version of WIF). Must tell u that i do roll play game. I build also a navy for example. I also dont use the forces from my axis members (expeditionary forces i mean)

Total landforce 182 divided as follow:

152 INF (which so 6 div have AT/ART)
4 MEC
4 Light armor
4 Fallschirmjager
2 MTN
7 GAR
4 HQ (where did your 4th hq go???)
5 Special units

Total airforce 57 divided as follow:

15 FTR
21 INT
6 CAS
9 TACT (without escort, i like more range, its important in USSR)

Your tactic is good. I use the same but i like to cross river near Kiev with main force and attack Odessa with divisions i can spare.

After u close the big pocket in the middle (can be done round july, begin aug) u must concentrate on Moscow area. In the south u take Kharkov, Rostov and hold Melitipol (port to Krim). Don't go to the Krim. It's not important yet.

In the north make sure u get Smolensk and Minsk. Dont cross river with Riga/Vitabetsk. Except if u got a good chance. In the middle make sure u got good position behind the river(orel area, maybe take vorenesk the urban area) to cover ur attack on Moscow.

Next summer 42 u can go for the south en Leningrad. (if u are really good u can get Leningrad also in 41 and being close to Stalingrad and Baku)

Take moscow before december 41!!!!!!

ah thanks, il try as best as i can.

However i am afraid of the left to start pounding my lines, hopefully that extra armor can pound some weak point to counter. Also my 2 mountain will help finland hold.

But the -105 and -115 frozen/snow bonuses in october is just demoralizing as i will then fight with armor at 1attackpoint
