I tried an Ocean Paradise + Storm Devotion build but didn't see any effect from the storm trait even though we started in a nebula.

I remember something about nebulae counting as storms... is that correct?

Or am I missing something else?

As far as I know, only explicit storms count as storms.

As I'd see it, the nebula is just the equivalent of it being cloudy, but it's not raining until there's an actual storm

Not sure if they count as storms, but a chaotic nebula (as opposed to a standard nebula) does have some storm elements

what... what is a chaotic nebula... and how do i get one...
Normal nebulae just blocks scanners and gives +3 cloaking strength.

Chaotic nebulae are nebulae with additional stuff like -50% speed, Shield nullification, etc. They occur naturally. You can check if a system in a nebula is nornal or chaotic by looking at the triangle icon on the name bar. If it's blue it's normal, but if it's red it's chaotic

right so the ocean paradise nebula is a regular one, no storm. does the toxic god's green nebula with its nullification count as a permanent storm then? that's cool

That one isn't a nebula at all, it's a star type effect.

It just happens to be a type of star that exists in that system and nowhere else.

Interesting.

There's a mod I use which has a "chaotic" (red-triangle) nebula origin, but I don't see Storm Touched giving any benefits in that system.

Are there any other criteria beyond the red-triangle environmental effects?

Not sure about the interaction of nebulae and Storm Touched.

I had to research some code for a Remnant-type origin and that's where I found out about regular and chaotic nebulae. I ended up using the storm created by the Zroni Stormcaster for that origin though.
