I did something similar, only my game was on a Digital mainframe! They didn't have PC's back when I was acquiring my vast programming experience.The only job for which I could apply would also be 'historical research'. I have some 'basic' programming skills (meaning I once made a text-based adventure game in Basic on my Commodore 64).
