I do, and it makes a difference. AI tends to play more defensively than the player, so attempting to steamroll a smaller army camped in the mountains is less likely to result in a stack wipe. I'll also add that commanders matter so much more, and you have to factor in the terrain. It makes more of a difference early game before you develop your space-marine MAA and knights. However, the Mongols and any scourge of god conqueror will be difficult to beat.

The devs made the change to the base game, and everyone complained, so they made it a game rule.

Hmm...I honestly never thought so far of increasing the value from the default...as already "5" feels off for me, so I always deal it back to 2. I concede though that my gameplay experience leading to this impression was both before the latest improvements to AI army managment and mainly as landless mercenary adventurer.

Yeah, I’ve been testing it out with new nomad changes to see how it impacts herds.

I do have to be a bit more careful early on.

I was wondering if anyone regularly increases the impact of advantage via the game rules. Is it worth experimenting with? Does it make the game more interesting? Or does it lead to more curb stomping the AI?

I do, at 10, makes battles more strategic. Commanders become more important and your MaA and knights not so much in comparison

It improves the experience by reducing the weight of stacking bonuses (which the AI can't apply) on buildings, vassals, items... and giving more importance to commanders in battles.

7 is the sweet spot for me as 10 tends to make ai often declare wars they cant win because they have higher numbers, which is historically accurate, but not with that frequency
