As a hater of Facebook, I would not like to do anything that promotes that site; and that includes creating an account (fake or otherwise) that boosts their ratings.
Yep, your account could be the number that tips the scales and makes them an internet phenomenon!

As an aside it does always amaze me how much hate people can develop for sites they don't even have an account for. Then again I guess this is the site where with every new game we get thousands of people coming out and saying "I will never buy another Paradox game until they release games that work from the box!" So I guess I shouldn't be surprised...

I want a CK2. I refuse to buy another paradox game until ck2 is officially announced.

Do you honestly think this will in ANY way expedite CK2?

/s

Once the Crusader Kings' facebook page has 25,000 fans and Paradox announces Crusader Kings 2 - will it be an online game?

I am posting my support here. No FB account for personal reasons.

Strange that. This whole discussion reminds me of the issue I've got with game registration on these boards. You don't seem to have any problem with that. At all. You're already jumping through Paradox hoops, how is this any different?
Apart from the fact that they're both on the internet they could not be more different.

Seems hate towards FB (for whatever reason) overrules love for a new CK :)

It might just be me, but it seems like some think that having an FB account in some way lets the whole world know everything about them. You could probably find more information in a Google-search than on FB.

People are choosing not to create a FB account because it doesn't sit right with them. I have the same reason for not registering all my Paradox games. You're right about them both being on the internet though.

To be honest, all this FB hate thing reminds me of bronze/early-iron age blood feuds between clans - mainly for being different and for all sort of prejudices.
I mean, just making an account there won't support FB - they will make no money off it. You can only support them either by advertising or by clicking on adds (forces advertisers cough out money). There might be some other s**t you can pay for, but i haven't found it yet.

Conclusion: Only real argument for or against, is if you like CK (and therefore also CK2) or you don't ! There is no other real arguments !

P.S. Could anyone help me with the issues in my previous post, or am i already in your ignore list ? You can PM me !

Ok guys, you've all made your point. "Like" the FB page or sign the petition in this forum instead. Either way the page will stay where it is and we have understood that some of you like FB and some don't. No need to continue discussing the why, but's and if's of FB. Let's keep this a Crusader Kings thread.

A buddy of mine has contacts with the gaming media. Apparently Game Reactor will make news story about the 25k benchmark in Facebook. V2.fi will probably take care of Finnish gaming media coverage of the issue before that.

Considering the main Paradox Interactive facebook page has only around 2 500 members, I doubt we'll ever see the CK site reaching 25 000 fans. Is this some ploy by Paradox Interactive to see the final nail on the coffin for CK2?

Well the Crusader Kings page has 1289 already, so who knows :) .... though I don't think we should take that 25K number literally.

I would seriously doubt that. If anything, it is a PR gimmick and they've already started working on it. The Middle Ages is a big gap in paradox' game coverage, and Johan is said to be particularly fond of CK. At worst, we will get a CK2 type game under a different more marketable name.
