I'm looking for a mod that adds many new events and traits to the game. I tried HIP already but I'm not convinced that HIP adds many events (I couldn't find any confirmation either way). Does CK2 add lots of events to make the lives of the rulers less boring/uneventful?

Also sorry if this has been answered but is there an expected release date for a CK2+ for Monks and Mystics? If so when is it?

Thanks.

I presonally feel it does.
While there aren't too many "meaningless" events, you get a whole bunch of new ambitions + corresponding events, coronations + events, some minor "everyday" events, the whole new faction syste, with meetings, decisions etc., as well as the duelling system (not currently in top shape though), the religion specific events etc.
While there also quite a few convenience/maintenace events in there, a comparison of the file sizes should give you an idea:
CK2Plus events are now around 3.77MB, which is more than all events of MnM, ToG and ReapersDue combined (3.13MB)!

Also, there is already a working beta of CK2Plus out for MnM - it runs pretty well for me, it will just not be save-compatible with the next iterations...

Cool. Would you say HIP or CK2+ has more traits/events in total?

That's kinda a hard question.
HIP is modular, so it depends on how many modules you install. Also, HIP might probably have even more "behind the scenes" events to make certain historical events or changed mechanics work. Their goal, however, is - in general - to not focus on adding lots of features and "meaningless" events, but rather make the world behave more historical.
So while in HIP you might get nation-specific events like in say EU4, CK2Plus is more of a sandbox, with events that might not have happened historically, but add fun gameplay.

In conclusion, if you mean "events" and traits in the sense of more stuff like in vanilla, then CK2Plus probably has more.

Plus events directory has 10031 events.

That doesn't really tell you anything since it would be very hard to decipher which events are modified by a mod, and which are included just because their file had to be included. E.g. recent mnm files are huge with a lot of events, and all we had to do was change genius to genius_visible and dwarf to dwarf_visible etc.

"More events" is a terrible, and a bit childish way to determine anything.

You see where I come from being rude for no reason is considered childish.

I was refering to the general notion that "more is better" and "bigger is better". You're *probably* more concerned with event coverage. No point in having million events if they never trigger for most characters. I apologize if you found that to be offensive.

In that regard the bit that's most problematic in Plus is playing as a feudal count in a small independent realm (one recent example I found is Krizevci in TOG start). Everything else looks well covered IMO.
Unfortunately there's no effective way for measuring coverage.

I prefer to think the OP is having the same mindset as I am. I prefer more events to spice up my playthrough. Instead of sitting idle to wait for holy war CB/truce timer to go away, I will love flavor/way of life/m&m/soa/mod added events to make my game 'meaningful'... Its not childish... And not about 'more is better'
