Well, this is my first AAR, and unfortunatly my screen shots were killed =/ dunno where they went or why... but I wrote what was happening down... so here we go :)

Prologue; The Road to Glory:

Argentina began its long march down the road to domination of the South American continent with a small step, right into Montevideo. All 6 of her divisions stood ready on the doorstep of the tiny nation of Uraguay. The attack was schedualed for Febuary 27th after the formation of 1st Army under the illustrious president Justo. Coinciding with the formation of the new army a programme of industrial reform was launched to bring all provinces up to a level of 5 at least.

Operation Aires

Only hours before the operation began the Grand Fleet was formed and sailed into the Rio de la Plata to blockade Montevideo.

02:00 Aires rises, war is declared and 1st Army advances.

22:00 Feb 28 - Argentina's naval bomber wing strikes the Uraguaian fleet in port, raids continue until the Argentine army seizes Montevideo.

19:00 March 27 - Argentine fighters commence tactical bombing and recon against the Uraguaian army, they are found to be woefully under organised and security services predict their collapse hours after contact is made.

April 2nd - The army takes delievery of a new division, which is formed and left to organise in Buenos Aires.

April 6th - The Uruguaian navy is destoryed in port, the Grand Fleet withdraws to port to conserve limited fuel supplies.

April 16th - Argentina's resource crisis worsens, scientific budgets are slashed and funds are redirected to consumer goods and war supplies.

19:00 April 22nd - Uruguay signs away its independance, Argentina absorbs the small steel producing nation into itself and completes the first step on the road to domination of South America.

May 10th - With the ever worsening state of the economy Argentina begins trading its only viable resource, steel on the world market for coal.

03:00 June 28th - Coincising with the President's birthday (mine not Justo's ;)) War is declared on Paraguay. 1st Army sheds its ancient WW1 armour to pass into the rainforest nation, the tanks are far too slow and so underwhelming in their firepower that their use is undesireable. 1st Army is expected in the Paraguaian capital by August 14th.

- To be continued :)

Well I was supprised how much fun Argentina can be :) I mostly play as Japan lol

Well... feedback welcome... if its too dull say ;) I can start again... with pictures and colours and sparkles... everyone loves sparkles...

nice start... and good luck with Paraguay, playing in 1.05c Argentina I ran into big trouble in Paraguay because of the Jungle terrain and river borders...

(I'm using 1.06 + Super AI mod, I'll go back through my savs and get the SSs, and slip them in later lol)

Noon June 28th - Argentine naval bombers overfly Paraguay assessing their strength, they are found to be far more prepared than the Uraguaians, airstrikes are called in on them by high command.

01:00 June 29th - Fighter wings begin bombing Paraguay's small but organised army. Airstirkes will continue round the clock until 1st Army engages.

14:00 August 14th - The achingly tired men of 1st Army contact Paraguaian forces who are well dug in and ready for the fight. The elite men of the Argentine mountain division the 'Brigada de Montana Villegas' out fight their entrenched foe and snatch victory for 1st Army, Paraguay is annexed the following day. The resources of the fallen nation give Argentina's weak economy a huge boost, increasing the avaliablity of consumer goods and keeping the populas placated.

September 2nd 1936 - Confusion reigns in the foriegn office as the situation in europe becomes chaotic, the Allies on France's insistance have declared war on Germany, Belgium surrenders without a shot being fired to Germany, General Franco declares himself ruler of Spain, Argentina declares neutrality, this is a european war... and means nothing to the poor people of South America... soon to be greater Argentina!

October 18th - 1st Army grows to 7 divisions with a second moutain division joining the formation. With another unit of elite mountain troops at their disposal Argentina's High Command agrees on a plan to seize Chile. 1st Army and its supporting airforce move up to the Chilean border.

16:00 November 20th - A formal declaration of war is handed to the Chilean ambassador, as he is arrested by Argentine security forces. 1st Army advance on Santiego, ETA Christmas day 1936.

November 29th - For the first time in it's history the Argentine airforce is grounded by losses, a break of one week is granted to rest, reorganise and resupply.

December 7th - Airstrikes begin against Chilean forces a fresh.

December 18th - Losses caused by bad weather again ground the Argentine airforce, fears mount in High Command, 1st Army is less than 8 days from Santiego and the weather is worsening, defeat is a worrying possibility and could lead to the fall of the Argentine government.

Midnight December 26th - A propagandist's dream! Victory is snatched from the Chileans seconds after Christmas day as once again the elite 'Brigada de la Mountana Villegas' rout the enemy forcing the Chilean's to retreat south, leaving the new Chilean capital alone and unguarded, now is the time for decisive speedy action. The artillery brigades are detached too slow to keep up the pace needed, this was an all or nothing roll of the dice if the slimmed down 1st Army could seize the new capital then Chile would have no choice but to cede, if 1st Army failed to reach their objective, the Chilean's would have a clean run to Buenos Aires.

January 2nd - A year after the beginning of the dream Argentina is only weeks away from reigning over all of the southern tip of South America.

Febuary 10th - The poorly defended capital of Chile in Antofagasta falls and Chile's government is captured, Chile cedes to Argentina and Argentina finds itself only afew provinces short of the regional giant, Brazil.

Febuary 23rd - The first stage of the industrial build up of Argentina is completed, edging us closer to an entire continent under the blue and white flag.

March 12th - Spain is now entirely nationalist, allied attacks into Germany are losing ground as quickly as they take it and once again 1st Army stands on the border of one of Argentina's neighbours.

April 4th - War with Boliva, Argentina's 8 divisions march against Boliva's 3.

April 15th - The Argentine airforce begins strikes on Bolivian forces, they discover Bolivia's army is a division stronger than expected. We still out number them 2:1 and our force is a battle hardened regular army while theirs is mostly conscript maltia, we'll roll over them.

May 8th - Foul weather and poor jungle roads slow the advance, but we are over the border and still heading for the capital.

May 18th - Argentine regular forces are now so disorganised they can barely match the Bolivian maltias, contact is made with Argentine infantry at less than half the organisation of their Bolivian enemy. But again the Argentine elite mountain troops crush everything before them and the Bolivian's retreat into the jungle.

May 23rd - The Argentine flag flies high over Bolivia as Bolivia cedes to the Southern Empire.

March 24th - Following the end of conflict the Argentine economy is in tatters, dissent is soaring and can be allowed to climb no higher, funding is shifted to consumer goods to tackle the dangerously high 30% of anti-government feeling. High Command contemplates disbanding the navy to free resources, naval chiefs argue themselves into the ground and save the Grand Fleet, no boats are scraped. With all spare funding diverted to the consumer goods pot dissent begins to fall at .10% a day. The newly captured resources of Bolivia give Argentina's economy all the raw materials it needs... if only a less apathetic workforce could be found -.-

Christmas Day 1937 - Argentina weighs its options, is Peru really as poorly guarded as it looks? Plans are made to secertly recon the mountainous nation, Lima is overflow on New Year's day.

New Year's day 1938 - High Command' hopes are confirmed Peru's army is tiny and poorly led, 1st Army will take delivery of another mountain division then it will take Lima!

January 7th - Peruvian diplomats arrive in Beunos Aires and begin asking awkward questions, the invasion plan has to be accelerated before Peru has time to build up its army.

Febuary 17th - 1st Army takes delivery of its newest mountain division. War in Europe rages as Germany goes on the offencive. Argentine intelligence in Europe is poor at best as all her assets are focused on its short term goal, conquest of South America.

Febuary 23rd - The grand industrial plan continues and once again Argentina's industry outstrips her resources.

March 30th - Dissent is finally brought under control as the long hoped for 0% arrives... now... On with the attack!

April 1st - War with Peru, bombing of frontier forces commences nine days later.

April 16th - Peru's frontier divisions are woefully underprepared, the smell of victory hangs in the air.

April 27th - France falls to Germany and an Argentine general is murdered by Peruvian assassins, there will be hell to pay.

May 15th - Despite fighting in heavy rain 1st Army smashes Peru's forces in Arequipa, we inflict an entire division's worth of casualties and destory their airforce on the ground.

May 29th - Reorganisting after the battle of Arequipa is complete, the army presses on for Lima.

June 21st - 20 days till Argentine forces arrive in Lima and the enemy is well dug in and prepared for a last stand, defending divisions include Peru's only mountain division, which is suspected by Argentine intellegence of supplying the team that assassinated our state hero.

July 24th - The Peruvian army has been trampled into the dust, the nation surrendered and its resources are being diverted to Buenos Aires as tribute. Next stop - Ecuador!

September 9th - War with Ecuedor, victory is predicted by the 10th of November.

November 2nd - 1st Army arrives ahead of scheudle and as expected waltzs over the Ecuedorian army, Ecuedor cedes.

A cool down period is called, long awaited leave is granted and on November 17th the entire Argentine army is refitted with new equipment.

April 1939 - Greater Argentina's economic output reaches 125IC ^_^

October 1939 - A German envoy arrives and offers Argentina a place in the axis, we politely decline, our goals lie in South America.

March 1940 - The Army has been totally reconstructed, 1st Army now sports a full 12 divisions including 3 brand new motorized divisions. A new mobile unit, 1st Cav. Corps is allso established and 2 elite divisions of border rangers are placed on the Columbian border.

April 5th - High Command establish a plan for the invasion of Columbia, 1st Cavalry will race up the north coast as far as Cartagena while 1st Army move on Bogata.

April - March - Weather worsens, the mountains become giant mudslides, theres no way 1st Army or even 1st Cav can operate in these conditions, war must be postponed until a full army of mountain troops can be raised.

- At this point... my notes end :) so to continue I've got to return to my saved game... can finally get some screen shots again lol -

Wait a minute......HOW

I have been playing Argentina and don;t see how Paraguay was taken that earlyin the game. The march into Paraguay takes 2 months and but that time they have slipped in other units to help in the defense. Around the clock bombing with the naval bomber (singular) doesn't have a prolonged effect on Org or unit strength and by the time my units get there their ORG is at 0. I've tried boosting my inital org number with tech upgrades but I just don;t see how Paraguay felll so soon......DETAILS please
