I have the retail version of Doomsday installed. I downloaded update 1.1 from the website, but when I ran the executable, it gave me an error message that Doomsday was not installed, so did not update. Is there a bug in the patch?

Uninstall HOI2 and doomsday, follow the instruction in the sticky thread on uninstalling.

Make sure both HOI2 and DD are uninstalled, then install to default drive and folder, then install patch.

what if i cant install on c drive because its only windows drive with no space for games.
why cant the patch search registry for destination like every other patch does?

It usually does, aparently it is having trouble finding yours.
If you feel comfortable editing the registry then you could check that and make sure it has the correct path to the game.

registry everything is correct

only 1 entry for hoi2 doomsday with correct path and stuff.
new and clean installation of dd.
installation routine still doesnt find the program. also downloaded patch from diffrent sources without effect.
sadly its not possible to enter the path manually into the patch files.

any ideas?

Do you have the correct patch ? The one for the retail version, not the download version.

I have installed all my paradox fames on the F drive. No problems updating DD.

yes correct patch.

but it worked now. guess how

i just reinstalled over the old copy and it worked ><
doing a clean uninstall and reinstall seams to have somehow not been detectable for the patcher. strange problem...
i think my windows installer is messed up somehow.

Glad you got it sorted.
