Is it possible to change doomsdays resolution to 1280*800, because my laptops screen that is made for 1280*800 resolution starts to flash.

Flashing is probably caused by a conflicting program running and trying to steal focus from the game.
MM.exe and MMdiag.exe are often the culprits.
But if you are convinced it is the resolution, there is a user made hack that allows you to set any res or play in a window. Check the Modding forum.
