Sadly for me I have Vista.... :(

I will see what I can do though.

Edit: It's working now. :)

Well, what does this tell us regarding DD-only support? :D

I just restate my belief that we will be able to provide a better and more stable product if we concentrate on a single DD-ARM version of 1914.

It tells us that there will be 184 people who will be very sad if we switch.

My computer stupidity is showing.

What is the 1914 Directory?

I downloaded the file to what I thought it was, but nothing is there.

The files I was supposed to extract to 1914.

Is is any particular file they need to go to?

Sorry, I don't really understand what happened.

So please follow this step-by-step guide:

1.) Goto http://1914mod.wordpress.com/download/ and get the right version.
2.) Make a copy of your HoI2/DD folder and rename it to 1914
3.) Go inside your new 1914-folder. It should look exactly like your HoI2/DD folder. Now delete all WW2-related data (see first post in this thread and delete the folders mentioned there)
4.) Extract the 1914-file you downloaded inside your new 1914-directory. Choose yes if your Windows asks to overwrite files.
5.) In your 1914-root, there should be a "no-time-limit" patch. Apply this patch to your HoI2.exe (the HoI2.exe in your 1914 root of course)
6.) Now run the game.

What is the 1914 Directory called?

Is it just the 1914 folder? I already did all that, I just think I put the stuff in the wrong file.

Yes, it is the 1914 folder. Copy it into this folder and let it replace whatever it wants to replce AFTER you have deleted those folders which need to be deleted.

That's odd then, I've seem to done every thing right?

I noticed when I was transfering it it was saying alot of error stuff, but nothing actually popped up telling me anything was wrong.

Anyways, thanks to everyone who has been putting up with my stupid questions.

Alright I've gotten everything down except the Timelimit patch, when I try to install that is give me an error saying file not found/file access error etc..

Anyways, If I actually try to start 1914 I still has the Doomsday screen and videos, is that supposed to happen?

Also how do I make the 1914 icon work? Right now I still have to use the HoI icon...

So many questions I know. :eek:o

If your game still has a DD menu and loading screen, something got wrong. I dont think you put 1914 in the right location.

The videos are okay. They aren't changed with 1914.

You can use the Icon for a link to 1914. Rightclick on a link and select "Change Icon..." to set the 1914 icon.

..........

I did everything that was said, I'm only having trouble with the Notimelimit now....

I've emptied and transferred all the folders too.

I don't know.

I try to install it, and it comes up with an Error saying "File not found, or file access error".

I've gotten the correct loading screen up now, but I still can't get the patch to work. Pretty spooky picture, with all the destroyed trees in the fog...

Probably a stupid question, but is there any way to delete and get a new HOI.exe for the folder?

What program gives an Error? The HoI2.exe after starting or the Unlimited Time patch when trying to patch the HoI2.exe?
