Just bought the game today and I'm trying to install it, but it does not install at all. It just spins around for 5 minutes and finally stops but I don't get the install screen. When I click on "computer" then the "E drive" and "Expand", I get "put a disk in the drive" even though EIC is already there. I've Vista 32Home Premium. Currently playing Call of Juarez, Bound in Blood, Fallout 3 and several other recent games with no loading problems. I've already returned this game back to Walmart for another. But still the same problem persists. Any help would be appreciated.........

It's possible you got another broken CD. Try it on another computer with a different drive to make sure and return it once more...

damm, it works on my wifes computer, at least the install screen pops right up. I can't install it thought because it's my old computer and could not run this game.
So I guess that cancels out a broken disk. I can't get the install screen to even appear on mine. My disk actually doesn't spin, it just kinda sits there. I don't hear the drive start up. But when I install other games (one's that are not on the computer now) the drive starts and the install screen pops up. I tried and 4 out of 4 were ready to install. But I put in EIC and nothing.
It's enough to make a grown man cry!!!!

I had that happen to me with an old Toshiba I had a few years back. It just refused to read some disks no matter what while most other disks it had no trouble with at all.

Maybe remove the drive from wife's computer, put it into yours, install EIC and switch drives again?

You know I can't answer this question on an official forum.

Sorry, actually I didn't know that, I just didn't want to open up both computers, switch things around, then find out my computer still needs to read the disk to start the game. But I thank you for your time, it just looks like I'll have to go back to Walmart and see if I can get my money back.

Well, you can switch until you're playing EIC, then give the good drive back to your wife.

By the way, this Toshiba of mine eventually made a CD explode inside of it (Diablo 2: LOD :-|). That's how my fun with it ended. Also ended my Diablo career on Battlenet. :)

sorry to hear about the disk issues. Eic does not require the media after installing. the drm locks the email with that key and uses online activation system to prevent using that same key with any other. If those both computers are in same network you could try to share the working cd device from the older computer and use that shared resource from the other computer.

It's alive...IT'S ALIVE.......I was finally able to solve my problem. Apparently my OME drive for some reason cannot read the disk format, which is strange because I only have a HP Pavilion a6000n PC, pretty stock stuff. So by using an external DVD drive the game has been installed, patched and running like a charm. I'm glad I did not return the game to Walmart.
I want to thank you guys for the suggestions, support and patches. You have made some nice changes to the game (I played the demo alot) that really add to the fun. Great game Great support........
