Drones And Their Destinations

Something which has been bugging (confusing) me for a while now is where Drones take "stuff". From watching a few closely I just don't get what they're up to i.e.

• Drone will come from a concrete extractor and dump waste rock next to a Water extractor.
• Drone then picks up waste rock from Water extractor - right next to waste rock dump
• Drone then completely ignores dump next to Water extractor and heads off across the map to a dump on the other side of the base

I've seen the same behaviour with drones collecting concrete from an extractor and totally ignoring the store right next to the extractor, and instead making for a store somewhere else.

Perhaps I'm missing a trick, but it appears that Drones are wasting time by not going to the closest store/dump.

As far as I can tell, drones will place rocks at whichever rock pile has the fewest rocks. Which doesn't make any sense.

I think rock piles should be avoided until you get the rock liquidization thing.

Give room. If not you have mini rock piles all over the place and can't build around. It can be difficult if you in a small place and need the space, like to place multiples mines on the mine deposit.
