AI still won't use their vassals armies in 1.02

Well. I was playing duke of uper Lorain in the 1066 scenario.

The king of germany was at war with tribe of pomerania. He called for some of his vassals to mobilize their regiments to assist him. Atleast half of them accepted and he got an armie of about 5000 men. But he didn't use them. He sent his single regiment from Franken. So his litle regiment of about 450 men got slaughterd whilst the remaining 4500 men stod in their home provinces doing nothing.

I though that the AI was to be improved by the 1.02 patch?

Edit: AI isn't the right word for it. More like AS "Artificial Stupidity"

have others seen similar behavior?

I have seen similar behaviour and know that it is being worked on.

The 1.02 patch was rushed through as rapidly as possible to address CTD and save game loading issues, thus not much time has been available to work on more difficult issues such as balance and AI. Bear with us...it's being worked on but significant changes to AI won't come until 1.03 - which will be some time from now (I won't event make a guess yet as to when that might be).

Hmm... it seems to be dependant on with whom you're at war.
I was at war with the tribe of pommerania and they used their vassal armies!

Some times the AI uses their vassals armies, but most times not.

i think this depends on the borders between warring parties. if they border, they use vassals, if not they dont
