Pope still "stealing" bishoprics in 1.02

Hm...this is one of the more frustrating bugs because it makes you wanna crush Catholicism alternate the Computer to pieces..

I noticed one other odd thing about bishoprics. In a 1.02 game Pagan bishops appeared at som bishoprics making the bishopric "eligible" for crusades..

I just saw this too. Playing Duchy of Brandenburg, the Bishop of Altmark became Pope and now the County/Bishopric of Altmark is part of the Papal States instead of my vassal.

Yup, it's very annoying to see the pope gain control of all kinds of territories...

Hm...funny...I also played Duchy of Brandenburg and the Bishop of Altmark became Pope and Altmark property of the Vatican...plus later the Pope also grabbed my Bishoprics of Marienburg, Memel, Kola and Kemi....I would rather get the trait Coward than loose any more bishoprics to the Vatican thief.. :D

well, it hasn'tbeen marked as fixed in 1.02, so its very likley that it isn't fiexed....

I was just wondering, is it normal to have an Italian Orthodox pope thats been dead for 25 years? Just wondering, didnt want to start a new thread..

totally normal

before you too get accused of being a spammer on the forum suggest you read the thread 'The Enternal Rule of the Undead Pope.'.. still exists in 1.02
solution goto pope hit f12, type die, hit enter, pause, f12
you have a new pope! Repeat if another Zombie is elected.

I havent had this happen to me yet, but to be honest I dont create bishoprics because I read about this in the bug forums before 1.02.

Obviously a bug but when the pope takes the province, dont you get a claim on it?

An Orthodox Pope? Shouldn't be possible. Historically, even today, the Pope is elected by the Catholic cardinals (who are also usually archbishops, but not all archbishops are cardinals - though most of the French, Spanish and Italian ones are) from amongst themselves. Thus, without being a Catholic archbishop, it shouldn't be possible to become the Pope.
