When king Dies, wars still continue but not able to siege

Since i dont see this exact thread... and i saw someone else noticed this in the general discussions.... As byzantium... i change the laws for inheriting early in the game, and wars break out. All going well i take provs etc.. but my king dies and is inherited by ducas.... but at this point i am not able to seige the enemy provinces even tho the AI can siege and take my land. I put troops on thier land, and its like its in my land because nothing happens. I gave up on the game... twice and dont have a save... Very annoying though.

Edit: Battles still occur though, i just cant siege thier land.

you were at war with 'them' but you couldn't siege their porvinces after the king died?
This doesn't sound very nice to me

CAn other confirm this?

when there is no living commander in an army a siege stops. feel free to simulate this using the 'die' command.

I can also confirm. What I had to do is disband my the army that was from my capital province, recall them so that my new king was at the head of the army and then move his army back to the province I was attacking.

It would obviously be a lot better if the new king simply took over command of the army from the old king. The king is dead, long live the king!

Yes i can confirm it too, though i've noticed and reported it for1.01!

Happens for me too. It takes a really long time for a King to march from LIthuania to Jerusalem :(

In a related note the failure to seige sometimes happens when I have a stack of nothing but mercenaries. Doesn't seem to happen all the time so I think there are other factors invovled...

I think if you have only mercs there is noone around to take the province as vassal and so the seige has to end in order for someone to take control.

I think you have hit on the problem with the death of the king bug.
