As Prussia in 1881 I produce a bit over 1 ammo per "turn". I need ammo to develop some colonial buildings--why I need one for a coaling station is beyond me. I set the buy for anything less than 256 (smaller numbers didn't work so I kept increasing it). Anyway, I watch the ammo supply level drop! Shouldn't it be increasing tillI I hit 256?

Just because you place an order for ammo, it doesn't mean there's any available. Ammo for a coaling station is used to abstract the fact that you will likely need some guys there to defend it or fend off native raids or something like that.

Why? I turned off the factories that were consuming them.

Ok, that makes some sense (I'd like to have the troops! Can't believe that they'd use that much ammo.).

Did you

a) uncheck the autotrade box next to ammo
b) make sure you "confirmed" the buy order after you had placed it

Will do--hadn't thought of that.

Yep.

New bug!

I have over 1000 steel in stockpile, but the ammo factory isn't getting any! RR's aren't the problem.

I suspect that what happens is the factory looks to see how much was produced that turn and ignores the stockpile completely.

i think it would be more logical that being a coaling station, the ammo is there to signify that they rearm ships as well.

Good idea--hadn't thought of that. However, the ammo is for building the coaling station; I don't recall it being required to run it.

Any ideas about the new bug?

got kinda tha same problem..truying to buy sulphur wich market got 10 but i still dont buy it..i turned of the suplhur consuming factories but nothing. very irritating since my economy kinda depends on it...no small arms on wm and no ammo on wm either :(

Send me a save game to victoria dot bugs at btinternet dot com. This is getting nowhere. Zip the file and send it to me as you are trying to buy the stuff for the factories.
