USA overpowered? Surely you're joking. It's weaker than the UK's, and remains that way for quite some time. I take it that you haven't played as Germany, whose economy is as strong as the US and the UK *combined*.

I think he's referring to the base IC amounts and not the effective ones.

In my experience the UK is a bit too low on IC and the USSR seems way too weak. Since the Germans tend to always outnumber the USSR when they invade and quickly crush them in all my games, thought this could be due to other factors of course.

Hi,

The IC levels are currently based off of Vanilla for the most part. We removed the extra IC added to each Capital and then scaled all of the economies to keep basically the same world IC total. This is going to get a solid review for 0.40.

Re: USA need to remember that they get a very favorable production bonus from the Slider setup. So they actually pay less and build faster than GER.

Once the USA really kicks into gear, it will be pretty storming (as they say) - though it will still have a 25% penalty to its' Industrial Efficiency unless it gets invaded, basically - US living standards were hardly affected, and in fact, probably improved, by the war, unlike pretty much every other combatant. All the democratic nations get the benefit of being able to use the Free Market slider - which gives you a reduction in build time AND cost all at once. At max setting, it means you pay about 2/3rd the cost for anything vs what Germany would pay, for example. Germany and other autocratic states can go for Central Planning and get more IC, but that doesn't reduce the time it takes, and it consumes extra resources (which can often be in short supply).

France is pretty weak (overall).. which is (I would have to say) probably fairly accurate. It still does rather better than poor old Italy, mind you.

As dec mentions, this whole area is slated for review for 0.40 - we will be doing our own "take" on IC, rather than just adapting the vanilla numbers as we have done for 0.30.

Well IMO the weakness of France was less in its industrial capacity (total IC) and more in the hability to harness it (effective IC). In that light I've increased its total IC to 124 and reduced the US to 326. I've also reduced Germany's to match the USSR (160 each).

Just curious, but would core allow the Kaisarreich mod to borrow some of the IC work done in CORE.04?

Of course credit would be given and all of that. What are your general polices?

(you can respond in PM if you want, or should I ask on the other forum?)

Reducing the USA's IC will utterly kill it in the early years (it can just about produce enough supplies at the moment to support the existing usage) - and what is the point in increasing France's base IC, if you then reduce the useable amount back down again ?

In case you hadn't noticed, Germany does start with less IC than the USSR, because the USSR starts with full Central Planning.

Before I changed the IC stats of Germany it was 171 for Russia's 160...

As for France I merely increased the raw IC stats... I didn't make any other changes.

I'm using DD 1.3a with the latest CORE.

I do find that the USSR seems to be under IC'd. While the USSR has 6bt units, they still seems to be totally outnumbered in my games against the German invasion

In all of my German games, I edit the save file to give the Soviets 50ish IC in some Siberian provence, makes things more interesting ;) BTW, I also edit in free divisions for them all the time as well, I must really want to lose.
