AFAIK you can only relocate the capital once the original one has been surrounded to avoid this effect. Areas not connected by land route also have the possibility to accumulate a certain amount of supplies, but those supplies have to be transported there from the capital.

adding to my previous post about the mysteriously popping up Allied Forces in North Africa - I've found the respective event that does that. It's an AI event that fired for me as the UK and gave me transports and INF in the respective provinces. Is EoD still developed? Does it make sense to report this bug? I'm on 2.2 + the hotfix

oh, wow, there is a 2.3? I've only downloaded the 2.2 + hotfix from the first page, where do I get the 2.3? Any changelog? Before hunting a bug that was possibly killed in 2.3 already I'd like to upgrade myself. Too bad development haulted. This is my favorite WW2 mod for DH now.

Thank you @ImaTomato ! A pity it is hidden somewhere within this thread. Newcomers like me will likely only find the 2.2 from the front page. Maybe someone with mod rights could link the post to 2.3 to the front page?

Be warned though, 2.3 didn't have a hotfix so some stuff doesn't seem to be working (throwing an error for italian ministers e.g.) and for whatever reason, the space bar doesn't pause the game as it did in 2.2 + hotfix for me. Still, you get some new events and an even better balanced gameplay. Too bad we won't see any more development on EoD. Someone should take over dev ;-)

@REDrake - how is your merger of EoD and parts of Grand Campaign (and some events from PWV) coming along? Are you still working at it?

To enable the "pause" button again goto EoD 2.3\config\Buttons.txt and edit the following sequence (line 363 ff.):

press = {
id = "BUTTON_PAUSE"
bitmap = "empty.bmp"
background = "pause_button.bmp"
lower = "F10"
upper = ""
shortcut = space
}

Oops, sorry, I misread your post, thought you wanted to disable spacebar. Not sure whether it´s "space" or "spacebar".

Still in works. I made a preliminary version which I played with Germany, from 1928 up until 1946. Noticed a lot of bugs however and is going to take me a while to fix. It also needs balancing as it is now, German player might be too powerful. It is very easy to reduce disent to 0 as early as 1931.

Due to my time constraints, I doubt I will work on it until summer.

@Blecky - thanks, works like a charm! (it's "space" indeed)

@REDrake - Making a start from 1928 balanced is quite a challenge, no question. Still, thanks for the status update and keep us posted about your progress. I still think your idea sounds promising!

Anyone interested in creating a sort of unofficial hotfix for 2.3 ?

Yes, there's a lot of interesting options in terms of other nations too. I just finished (well, I lost..) a game with Communist China which was very very interesting (including a cool event based implementation of the Long March) but also very hard and unforgiving. Even when playing on normal levels, you'll find the Japanese running against your Yan'an fortresses like crazy. And they will continue even if the backlands have long been conquered by Nationalist China. So in my game I ran out of manpower and got overrun in the end, some time in 1943. I'm wonder if I'd get a "unite china" event chain after japanese surrender. Guess I'll have to try again. Bottom line is - if you pick a nation like Communist China It's a "total defense" style of gameplay - quite the opposite from the offensive gameplay as e.g. Germany. Try it - and report back here :)

Alright, just started my second attempt at an Italian campaign, but this time in 2.3 There's a lot of stuff unfinished / broken with Italy in 2.3.

Apart from that, it is quite a challenge. The UK and allies field huge armies in North Africa (not sure how realistic 16 UK infantry divisions in Southern Egypt are ...) but I guess it's done for the sake of gameplay.

One thing I noticed is that Italian East Africa sucks really hard even in terms of supplying any troops. I have 12 INF spread out for defence down there and they flip-flop on supplies on a daily basis. That's kinda odd and seems like an AI problem since they still have 4/5 IC and need maybe half an IC for supplies. Anyone else running into that problem?

Also noticed the AI will create a convoy from somewhere in conquered France or Germany all the way to Assab to supply Italien East Africa. Horrendous loses due to allied convoy attacks but then what will you do. But then once you conquer Suez and a direct route would be open, the AI won't change it. So'd have to do it manually. Any idea if this can be done via event? I think I know about convoy creation but deleting an existing one you're not even sure which port to which is tricky ... any suggestions?

Agree the convoy system should reflect the safest and shortest route and should check itself for better routes as the game goes on

Am playing as Italy , what diplomacy should i be moving to get the dissent hit down for a DOW, If a player wanted to do a stand alone without entering axis the dissent hits for attacking and puppeting Greece then attacking France puts me over 20 dissent ????
