I had this problem playing my game. Someone added some comments at the beginning of the monarchs.sar file without adding the "#" at the beginning of the line ;) . With this correction everything works fine :) .

Just to confirm some things.

1. I also got an error with Sardinia's monarchs.
2. All my saves are pretty unusable due to the corruption bug (No idea what caused this though.)
3. Playing as England I got the option to move Austrias capital to one of her three provinces. It seems like they did not get it at the same time as me. Which could mean that I got the event instead of them?

The Austrian capital issue is known (see above) - the events were missing the country tag, and in that case they trigger for the human player.

Perhaps the best first post you could make in this board Handsomechi!!!! :D :D :D ;) Feel welcome!
That is definately causing CTD:s!
I'm at work so I cannot tell how the province distubution should be, Garbon might have an idea? (It's not his fault, but almost his area ;) ). There might be more problems in East Asia, it wasn't done to EEP in the first place, rather to the Paradox GC it seems. Manchu might have other province disputes?
Really stupid of me to include that comments in the monarch file of Sardinia. :(

Just a point about KOI capital

I personally would leave it in Milan, since Pavia (a town some 20 miles south of Milan) was the capital for the Ostrogoth Kingdom and in some times also of the Longobard kingdom and of the Frankish Kingdom, while Monza (less than 10 miles north of Milan) was for long capital of the Longobard kingdom, and it's very much related to the Iron Crown.

Napoleon, who revived the KOI, was crowned in Milan and Milan was the capital of KOI.

All three town definely are in the Lombardia province in game terms, and, considering also the role of Milan in the struggle against the Emperor during the Middle Ages and its past as capital of the Western Roman Empire under Costantine, I'd think that Pavia would have been a second choice for a revived KOI long after Otto took over Berengar Kingdom (year was 951).

I have only planned to change the text in the event for moving the capital. From 'Move to Milan' to 'Move to Lombardy' and something in the description about Lombardy being the historical center of the KoI.

Excellent! Berhaven had shown that it was something fishy with Manchu, this is probably it! Thanks :)

That was exactly what I meant to say BTW :D .

Berhaven is right, incoronations of King of Italy happened also in the Duomo of Monza ( small town very close to Milan now ;) ). The historical capital of the Lombard kingdom was Pavia ( or to be precise, the main residence of most of the Lombard kings) : the city lost importance after the Frankish conquest. BTW I repeat it: ancient Lombard kings were never crowned by bishops or popes: that was a custom introduced by the Franks :) .

I definitely agree with it.

The very much "philosophical" question is whether the "revived" KOI is more a "Lombard revival" or a "Frankish KOI" one. I guess that the former would have a more guibelline sense since the end of Lombard Koingdom was due to a Frank-Pope alliance while the latter would have been more guelf, given the fact that the last KOI - Berengar - was beaten by Otto, the Emperor and since then the title of King of Italy became an attribute for the Emperor.

In any case, if the re-creation is to be placed in a later stage of the time-span of the game I tend to imagine that both guelf and ghibelline aspect would have lost most of their meaning, replaced by a pro-hasbourg of pro-french balance.

Known bug, read the first post, I list all bugs there. ;)

I'm sorry to bother you: my current EEP 1.4.2 savegame got corrupted and I had to stop playing :( . Has some of you some ideas about it ? I reloaded the game in 1619 and everything was fine: in 1629 it was simply impossible to reload a savegame  .

I have a qualified guess...
If you know your way around the save file look for provinces 645, 646, 1606, 1608. Make sure they are owned, controlled and listed as cities for one nation only. To try fix this problem for the future, see the first post of this thread.

MCH and CHI issue

12. MCH (Manchu) and CHI (China) both have provinces 645 and 646 listed as owned from start. Details to come... CTD bug!

I went to look at this and found that I had no 1419_mch file at all! There is a 1520_mch file for that scenario. Am I missing something obvious?

Not really. Problem for us mortals is that we don't know if the provinces belong to China or Machuria....
Once we know we can edit the proper files. Until then we sit on the fence..... That's life :p
