Okay, I did a fresh install of EU 2 1.07 from the Crown of the North CD. Then I installed EEP 1.4.2 and then unzipped 1.4.2a over it. (Had to do that because without the regular EEP there's no launch icon on the desktop to start EEP!)

When I start a game, picking ANY nation BESIDES FRANCE will allow the game to work just fine.

If I pick France, though, the game crashes on the Initalizing Script part of the load.

What's wrong here?

Well, there's nothing I can do about that. :( I sold my original copy of EU II when I picked up Crown of the North, since it allready had EU II on it and I did'nt need two copies of the same game.

But strangly enough, I have a friend who ALSO has EU II from Crown and he also has the same EEP version that I do and he is able to play England and France in solo! Even more curious, in multiplayer, I'm able to play France or England! It's only when I try to load those nations in SOLO mode that the game crashes on the 'Initalizing Script' message.

That's why I suspected the problem is somewhere in the EEP files.

Can anyone else help?

I don't know if you have installed 1.4.2a version of EEP.

I had the same problems (crash on the "Initialising script" phase of the loading) playing with 1.4.2 on 1520 scenario and the problem doesn't seem to be solved in the latest version. But GC 1419 works well now with 1.4.2a (at least until 1500). No more "Initialising script" CTDs...
